They kicked off the festivities Friday evening, June 18 with a “Meet and Greet” at First South Bank Community Center in Brownsville, followed by a Saturday after- noon “Family Bunch and Brunch”, and later enjoyed a “Saturday Night Gala Banquet” which was held at the Holiday Inn Universi- ty of Memphis site. Sunday afternoon, the Class of 1980 closed out with a successful “Send Off Bash”. Saturday’s activi- ties included a balloon release honoring de- ceased classmates. Also, during the weekend festivities, the Class of 1980 made donations to three of their classmates: One who suffered loss due to a major car ac- cident (Linda Hollo- way Shaw), another due to a devastating house fire (Frankie Snipes Conley), and another due to the re- cent flooding (Sandra Chapman).
