This decision was made by the Home Office of the U.K. Border Agency, the party responsible for securing the U.K. border and controlling migration in the U.K. The UKBA accreditation allows anyone in the world who intends to settle in the UK as the spouse of a British national, to submit their A1 TOEIC scores as evidence of having passed a U.K. Border Agency approved English-language test. A1 Level : Basic User (beginner )(according to The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). A1: Spouse/Partner Passing this examination means you: can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type; can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has; and can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. TOEIC Score Requirement to gain A1: Listening: 60 Reading: not required Speaking: 50 Writing: not required
