Yeoval Central School Term 4 Week 6
14 November 2011
Our Kindergarten Orientation commenced last Wednesday for ten new students. Miss Dodt has ar‐ranged four sessions for the students this term. Parents were welcomed to the school at a meeting where information about school routine, organisational matters and programs for kindergarten were presented. Further questions and inquiries are welcome by contacting Miss Dodt or our office. As the School Spectacular draws near our thirteen students are learning their songs and organising their excursion. Mrs Johnson and Mrs Blatch have worked hard making last minute arrangements for the performance. There is a final parent meeting on Wednesday 16th November at 6:00 pm (Royal Hotel).

K‐Yr 10 assessments and exams com‐menced today. Students will complete their tests this week and student reports will be sent to parents by the 9th Decem‐ber. Some parents have been to see me about the new Personal Electronic De‐vice Policy that was published in our newsletter. It is worthwhile to know that other schools around the state will trial a similar policy. The main concern from parents is that secondary students can bring their devices to school but our policy of No Tolerance still applies. If students use their phone or IPod in the playground or classroom without per‐mission, it will be removed from them and parents notified. It is up to the stu‐dents to be more responsible and un‐derstand the guidelines and intention of the policy. Mr Cluness and some hospitality stu‐dents will be catering for the Yeoval Red Cross Christmas lunch on Thursday 17 November. Our school Animals on Bikes is nearing completion. Selected students who are part of our Gifted and Talented program have spent a number of hours after school working on the project. The fin‐ished product will be displayed in our playground. Student voting for School Captains was finalised last Friday. Results of the elec‐tion will be announced at our school Presentation Night on Thursday 15th De‐cember. There has been an alert of the disease “Hand, Foot and Mouth” in the Yeoval area. This is a mild illness of childhood which is passed from person to person.
