A Waiting World. A Willing Church.

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works - Hebrews 10:24

Bishop Dwight L. Haygood, Sr.,Jurisdictional Prelate

2 A Waiting World. A Willing Church.

Greetings in the name of our Lord and

Savior Jesus Christ. I pray that you are

in good health and that you are walk-

ing in the favor of the Lord. We are blessed

to see our 92nd Jurisdictional Ministers and

Workers Meeting; to be inspired to enhance

our local churches and ministries for the

Kingdom of God with the theme A Waiting

World, A Willing Church (Hebrews 10:24).

This year’s theme should inspire us to

provoke one another to love and to good

works.

Let this motivate us to create a dynamic

synergy in which our department, auxiliaries,

ministries, and churches can come together

“A Waiting World, A Willing Church”

From the Bishop’s Pen

stimulated out love for one another and the

ministry of Jesus Christ, to do good works

within our local assemblies.

Let us be provoked to love; to reach out into

our respective neighborhoods, schools, and

greater communities to work with God and

what He is doing in the world.

Let us be provoked to get behind our theme,

A Waiting World, A Willing Church, to take the

eternal stability of God’s love and truth to a

world that is ever changing.

Let us be a willing church ready to carry out the

Father’s redemptive mission in his Son Jesus

Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit to make a

difference in the world.

In closing, it is my prayer that this gathering

inspires, equips, and motivates you all to do the

work of the ministry unto the

Kingdom of God.

There is a world waiting to hear the Gospel. Are

we willing to reach them?

Good Works Await!

Expressions from Our Mother

Ipray that this letter finds each of you resting in God’s favor and abundant with His choice blessings.

Our leader has chosen a very timely theme

for this year’s Ministers’ and Workers’

gathering... “A Waiting World, A Willing

Church! Furthermore, this compliments our

commitment to “Each one, reach one, and

teach one.

Now, more than ever before, we should

look ouside of the walls of our inner church.

There is a world waiting on this sleeping

giant, called the church. Even as Isaiah

52:1 declares, “Wake up Kentucky First

Jurisdiction! Put on your beautiful garmets!”,

it is clear that there is a call to action for each

disciple of Christ. There are those all around

you in your home, in your places of business,

and even right next door who are waiting to

hear that there is a Saviour who is always on

call and ready to bear their heavy burdens.

As a willing church, we should never be

afraid to share what we know as our spiritual

detergent, the blood of Jesus, that can wash

away sins, and provide a way of living that

includes hope and a sure future.

In the very near future, we will have an

opportunity to activate our faith, during the

upcoming Womens’ International Convention,

as we host this glorious event in Louisville,

KY. Let us seek to capture the attention of

our cities and communities with refreshed

encouragement and strength that only comes

the Word of God.

Remember, through you, and if you are a

willing vessel, God has the power to make

something beautiful and good out of lives that

are littered with the debris of hopelessness.

(this is not Mother Stallworth’s official letter...

it is a placeholder for the purposes of Bishop

Haygood’s review -WJ)

Preserve the Landmark

Bishop Charles Harrison Mason deserves to be remembered. He stands out in history because of the expanse of his phenomenal ministry, which was recognized by all races and classes of people during his lifetime. He hails as the founder and first senior bishop of the Church of God in Christ, one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in the western world.

Bishop Mason was a leading pioneer within global Pentecostalism, being an “alumnus” of the Azusa Street Revival, the founding event of the Pentecostal movement. During his fifty-four year tenure as senior bishop, the Church of God in Christ grew from 10 congregations to 4,000 congregations; from approximately 2,000

members to 400,000 members, and from churches within the United States to churches on five continents.

There is so much to be learned from the spectacular life, ministry, and witness of Bishop Mason. His achievements have yet to be fully comprehended. The 150th anniversary of Bishop Mason’s birth should be an occasion in which we rediscover him as the founder of a great denomination, an evangelist of high stature, a supporter of world missions, a friend of education, a champion of pacifism, and an advocate of civil rights.
