polar Support Alliance (DBSA) willfeature at its monthly meeting onWednesday, October 31, Jeffrey Wolff,M.D., who trained at New York Uni-versity, Bellevue and Downstate Medi-cal Center. He is board certified inpsychiatry and has practiced inMorristown for more than 20 years.
The subject of Dr. Wolff’s talk willbe “Ruling out medical problems thatcan worsen or cause mood disorders.”In addition, he will discuss the role ofgenetic testing in the management ofpsychiatric illness. Attendees also willhave an open forum with Dr. Wolff todiscuss mood disorders.
These educational meetings of theDBSA take place on a Wednesdayevery month, at 7:45 p.m., using thefacilities of the Morristown UnitarianFellowship, located at 21 NormandyHeights Road, about one block east ofthe Morris Museum, in Morristown.The public is invited to attend all meet-ings; a nominal donation is requestedfrom non-members, when possible.Free literature is available to all at-tendees and there is an extensive lend-ing library of educational audiotapes,CDs and videotapes, also free.
In addition to the lecture series,peer group support sessions led byexperienced facilitators are heldevery Tuesday evening of themonth, also using the facilities of

TAKE NOTICE, that on Wednesday,October 10, 2018 the Planning Board ofthe Township of Scotch Plains, UnionCounty, New Jersey, adopted the Resolu-tion endorsing the proposed Zoning Ordi-nance changes to Chapter XIX (Land UseProcedures) and Chapter XXIII (Zoning) ofthe Revised General Ordinances of theTownship of Scotch Plains, commonly re-ferred to as the “Green Book”. The Reso-lution memorializing said endorsement wasduly presented and adopted by said Plan-ning Board at the regular meeting onWednesday October 10, 2018. A copy ofsaid Resolution has been filed in the officeof the Board and/or the office of the munici-pal clerk and is available for public inspec-tion.

8-1-1 Westfield High School girls’soccer team, No. 16 in The Star-Ledger, overwhelmed the RoselleCatholic Lions, 4-0, in the first roundof the Union County Tournament atKehler Stadium. Forward TaraHandza, Samantha Costello, juniordefender Grace Mackenzie and jun-ior midfielder Robyn Knapp eachnetted a goal.
October 11, 2008: After a 3-4 start,the Raider boys soccer team reeledoff six wins and a tie after inflictingvisiting Union Catholic with a 5-0setback in the first round of the UnionCounty Tournament. Junior MattGreaney and sophomore Rory Szetoeach fired in a pair of goals and juniorBrendon McEvoy notched one goal.
October 5, 2007: Blue Devilsophomore Jenna Rodrigues won theall-around title for the second straightyear as the eighth-ranked Westfield
High School gymnastics team suc-cessfully defended its title at the Cou-gar Invitational meet in Cranford. TheBlue Devils had their best perfor-mance of the year with a 107.875 toeasily top last year’s total of 105.575at the meet.
October 14, 2006: The Raider foot-ball team maintained its average ofallowing just one TD per game bydazing the Linden Tigers, 14-7, inScotch Plains. Senior running backGreg Brand rolled off 62 yards on 15carries, including a one-yard TD blast.Junior tight end Keith Baker stunnedthe Tigers when he snagged a passand galloped 80-yards to pay dirt inthe fourth quarter. Additionally, hemade 17 cracking tackles, includingtwo sacks.

October 15, 2005: With one minuteremaining in the football game, theBlue Devils were driving toward ascore, but defensive back SimonSmith made a diving interception atthe 10-yard line to preserve a 13-10Cougar victory. Junior Blue Devilhalfback Ryan Yarusi had two recep-tions for 75 yards, one good for 55yards and a TD. Quarterback NickDeRosa completed eight of 21 at-tempts for 153 yards and a TD, whilebeing intercepted once.
October 16, 2005: Raider juniorBrian Meredith has been acknowl-edged as being one of the finest boyssoccer goalkeepers in the state. How-ever, Raider Head Coach TomBreznitsky’s decision to pull him fromgoal and onto the field of play workedout like a charm. Meredith scoredboth goals to help the third-seededRaiders (9-2) overwhelm Governor
Livingston, 2-0, in the first round ofthe Union County Tournament inScotch Plains.
October 16, 2004: The hostingRaider football team tempered thesting of the Passaic Valley Hornets,14-12. Halfback Lakiem Lockeryscored both Raider TDs and rushedfor 178 yards on 24 carries.
October 16, 2004: Persistent pres-sure from Viking striker Mike Seamonand a header three minutes into over-time by sweeper Brian Osbahr gaveUnion Catholic a 2-1 victory over theBlue Devils in the opening round ofthe Union County Tournament inScotch Plains. Brady Lau scored thesole Blue Devil goal in the first halfon a direct kick from 15 yards out.
