Since the introduction of theoriginal VSC system in 1979, Foster + Freeman have beenrecognised as world leaders inthe design and manufacture ofhigh sepecification systems forthe forensic examination of questioned documents.

The current range of VSC systemsincludes the VSC6000/HS, thecompact but powerful VSC400and the modular range of VSC40 instruments.

The range is supplemented bythe VSC-QC1, a fast ‘touch screen’system for the verification ofpassports and ID cards.

The VSC40 range of document examinationsystems, has been designed to provide tailored solutions to the examination andverification of a wide range of security features incorporated into passports, driving licences, banknotes, identity cards and creditcards.

Four system variants, built around the samecore VSC40 hardware, may fitted with a variety of Optional Modules to offer differentlevels of functionality.

Choose from a selection of light sources, security decoders and readers, document referencedatabases and accessories to configure an instrument that meets your needs.

High Visual Clarity High resolution imaging systemImages captured via the analogue CMOS camera through the high magnificationzoom lens provide the examiner with a crystal clear on screen representation ofthe document under examination.

Auto ExamineSemi-automate tasks using preset examination routinesThe VSC40 allows the operator to manually select multiple illumination and filtersettings to create an examination routine that will then be processed automatically. Results are displayed as a thumbnail gallery; selecting a galleryimage will automatically produce a full screen display and recall the examinationsettings.

Image EnhancementOn-screen image processing facilitiesImages captured via the VSC40 camera may be enhanced in order to achieve thebest possible image clarity. Enhancement tools include, sharpening, backgroundflattening, gamma correction, noise reduction and contrast stretch.

Intelligent AssistanceEnsures compatible illumination and filter selectionWhen the operator selects a filter to generate fluorescence, the system will automatically select the first compatible imaging filter. The operator may overridethe automatic selection if required.
