Christian Music
Ministries
It's been another varied andcreative year with CMM. Our bigproject has been the musicalBarnabas. I prepared the musicbook for the printer, sang andplayed on the CD recording, andthis autumn I have fully orchestrated the musical. If you missed the world premiere in September, have a look at our CMM diary to find a productionnear you in the coming year. And please don'tmiss this exciting event:
Date for your diary: Saturday 8 October 2016
Barnabas and an Orchestrawith massed choirs
The Coton Centre, Comberford Road, Tamworth, Staffs, B79 9AA
As well as the music typesetting, editing, musicalarrangements and orchestrations that form most ofmy home-based work for CMM, it has been a fullyear of 'Worship Works' weekends, music weeks, conferences, renewal evenings and musical-in-a-day events around the UK. And with the publication
of Graham Allan's biography:Roger Jones - Musical Man,we have held a number of'Evenings with Roger Jones', withmyself or Helen in the role of chat-show host, interviewing Rogerand presenting songs from themusicals. These have been very
popular - and surprisingly moving.
And in between all of this I have been arrangingand uploading over 50 choral anthems to our CMMwebsite - check out CMM Choral atwww.cmm.org.uk where you can download andphotocopy sheet music for your choir to enjoy.
CMM Choir
It's been another very good year with CMM Choir- such a faithful group of folk who love singingRoger's music and sharing their faith through themusicals. This year we gave 8 performances ofthe musical 'Angel Voices' and then were thebacking choir for the Barnabas world premierein September. We are currently learning thewhole of Barnabas from memory with our ownsoloists for productions in February and March. And this Christmas we have two evenings ofChristmas music, one at a Retirement Village, and the other at a Women's Institute. Next year'sprojects include Snakes & Ladders and TheINN Crowd.
Noreen Hook
Sadly Noreen passedaway in July, aged 87.She and I met at a CMMweekend over 20 yearsago and had been firmfriends ever since.
Noreen was one of life's great characters, and Ioften visited her in Lichfield. She has very kindlyleft me her piano and all her music. Noreen willbe greatly missed by those of us who knew andloved her.
