OF CONSOLATION PARISH We, the Joyful Family of God, united in our Catholic Faith, seek to model our patroness, Our Lady of Consolation, by bringing love and comfort to all, teaching God’s Children in His ways by word and sacrament, and keeping the vibrant love of Jesus present in our world.

PCCO WINTER COAT DRIVE
Today, PCCO will be accepting adult and children winter outerwear including coats, hats, scarves, gloves and boots at its Winter Coat Drive from12:00 noon until 6:00 pm at the Church of the Open Bible. Anyone needing adult or children outerwear is invited to come to the Church of the Open Bible this Thursday, October 10 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 5:00 to 9:00 pm to select what they need.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT CLASS Our Lady of Consolation is hosting a Protecting God’s Children Awareness Session on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:30 pm at the Schneider Parish Center. All parish personnel and volunteers who have regular contact with children and who have not previously attended this course are required to attend. In order to register please visit www.virtus.org and click on registration under login. Follow the instructions to register for the class. If you do not have access to the internet you may call 215-587-2466. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the class which is approximately 2 ½ hours in length. AT THE RAILROAD MUSEUM
Our Lady of Consolation Parish cordially invites you to attend our Anniversary Year Parish Benefit “On Track for a Special Evening” scheduled for Saturday, October 19 from 7:00 to 11:00pm at the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum in Strasburg. Adult tickets include hors d’oeuvres, a sit-down dinner, live music, beverages, open bar, a silent auction items (including trips) and full access to the Railroad Museum with free tours available. The cost is only $50 per person and reservations can be made by calling the OLC Rectory at 610-857-3510. A fabulous evening is guaranteed at the elegant Railroad Museum! MUSIC MINISTRY
Our Music Ministry is looking for YOU! The Voices of Praise Adult Choir and Kids for Christ Singers are open to any member of our parish who has an interest in singing or playing an instrument. We have had a wonderful start to our school year! We have enjoyed welcoming back many familiar faces as well as making new friends. In addition to our regular fun-filled preschool schedule, the Early Learning Center is looking forward to beginning enrichment classes. The enrichment classes will be offered to 4 year olds and will be held on Wednesday afternoons. Our first six-week session will begin on October 9 and each session will focus on a different theme. Please contact the school at 610-857-1163 if you are interested in joining us. We are preparing for OLC’s 23rd Annual Christmas Craft & Book Fair to be held on Saturday November 23. Crafters interested in participating will find an updated application on our school’s website at www.olcelc.com. We are in need of volunteers and/or raffle donations to help make this another successful event. Parishioners who are able to assist with this wonderful event may see one of our staff members or contact the school. All help is welcomed and much appreciated! St. James Alumni Association will host Radio Dazed, a 1950's style musical comedy and dinner theater performed by Rose Valley Chorus and Orchestra on Saturday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m. The event will be held at The Doghouse at 1499 E. 9th St. in Eddystone. SEEKING A YOUNG ADULT COMMUNITY? Catholic Young Adults of Chester County continues to meet on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall in West Chester.
