Fire Curtain Technologies smoke and fire curtains are fully tested and certified to the latest fire regulations and building design technology.Fire Curtain Technologies provides a wide range of options: All system components (headboxes, fabric, bottom bars, drive systems) can be customized. All fire and smoke curtains can operate as an integrated part of a smoke control and fire management scheme, with emergency power units and the facility to interface directly with a fire control panel.Gravity Fail-safe – Unwinds curtain to its operational position without the need for power.Fire curtains are manufactured under the ISO 9001 quality standard by Colt Group International.
FIRE CURTAINS
Seal off an area to contain a fire and to prevent it from spreading.
Automatically deploy upon receipt of a signal from the fire-alarm panel, and automatically retracts when the signal has stopped.
Retain fire integrity in an emergency but allow complete freedom of passage when not in use.

A side guide system is nearly always fitted and provides a seal between the sides of the curtain fabric and the walls, ensuring that any positive or negative pressures created by a fire will be resisted by the curtain and so that it won’t deflect significantly.
Side guides can be integrated either into or onto a wall / soffit or into a recess / niche. COLT side guide roller system has been designed to ensure that the curtain will move to its closed position easily even when there are significant air velocities around the curtain.

The Fire Protective Curtain is a gravity-deployed
fire barrier that maintains the integrity of a fire-
rated wall in commercial buildings and is used in
place of a fire door. The Fire Protective Curtain
is designed to operate both independently
or interface with a building Fire Alarm Control
Panel (FACP).
APPLICATIONS: Fire protective curtains are used in all industrial and commercial buildings, e.g. shopping centers, office buildings, atria, etc.
The Fire Protective Curtain is certified and labeled to UL 10D
FIRE PROTECTIVE CURTAIN FA AUTOMATIC FIRE CURTAIN
The fire protective curtain consists of a roller covered with a fiberglass fabric which is incorporated into a galvanized steel housing.
The roller unit incorporates a motor, planetary gearbox and internal microprocessor. The microprocessor monitors the rest position and independently regulates the closing speed to a maximum of 0,15m/s (6 in / sec).
Fire resistance 60 / 180 minutes
The housing is equipped with specially developed reinforced brackets, which maintains integrity at high temperatures. The bottom of the housing is closed off with a panel which allows the entire length of the system to be accessed. The system is equipped with side guides. The design ensures that the required compartmentalization is achieved. There are no visible fasteners either on the underside of the housing or on the front of the side guides. At the bottom of the curtain a bottom bar is attached which serves to ensure that the curtain operates as designed and also that it remains stable when unrolled.
The bottom bar makes contact with the floor when the curtain is deployed creating a smoke-tight seal with the floor. There are different bottom bars available for different applications.
The curtain headbox and side guides can be polyester powder coated in all RAL colors. The fabric is silver grey. The unit can be configured with mounting brackets either for wall or ceiling mounting.

A Fixed Draft Smoke Curtain contains smoke and heat in the case of fire.
Per NFPA 92B, Draft curtains are generally used to channel or contain smoke that is attached to the underside of the ceiling and protrude a limited distance downward.
A fixed smoke curtain consists of several overlapping curtains attached together to provide a continuous run. They are connected together and to the building by means of clamps and angle pieces. The bottom of the cloth is weighted, ensuring that the curtain remains taut and reducing the amount of deflection through air currents.
FIXED SMOKE CURTAIN FIXED DRAFT CURTAIN
The installation angles and the clamping profiles are predrilled to accept rivets. The connecting pieces have a continuous predrilled hole pattern, enabling fast and easy assembly of the curtain fabric. The bottom bar has a loop to accommodate the weight.
SM-ST system can be used to close off a scheme of movable smoke curtains position below it, by clamping directly onto the housing of the movable smoke curtain.
Fixing brackets, clamping profiles and bottom bars are all in galvanized steel.
The curtain overlaps can be attached to one another using a spray adhesive approved by MPA Stuttgart, which seals the flaps tightly to to enhance the appearance of the surface of the curtain.
The SM-ST system is fixed to the building with approved fasteners at intervals of a maximum of 5 feet.
Smoke resistance 60 / 120 minutes
Smoke curtain meets the requirements of EN 12101-1.

NFPA UL DATA SHEET | UL 10 D
This category covers fire-protective curtains intended for applications in buildings where supplemental fire or smoke protection is desired. These products are intended to provide nonstructural separation only, and are not intended to be employed where structural hourly-rated partitions or protectives requiring hose-stream performance are required by code.
Fire-protective curtains are intended to provide supplemental passive fire protection as part of an engineered fire-protection system. These devices are retained on a motorized retractable coil, which can be controlled through the fire-alarm circuit of the building. The curtains are intended to be deployed on command by the fire-alarm system.
Fire-protective curtains have demonstrated the ability to withstand exposure to a fire-endurance test conducted in accordance with the standard-time temperature curve of ANSI/UL 263, “Fire Tests of Building
Construction and Materials,” under positive pressure, without the development of through openings in the curtain, or flaming of the curtain material on the unexposed side of the assembly, for the duration of the hourly rating. In addition, the following performance criteria is applied:
Vertical through openings between the edge of the curtain and a fixed curtain track (if employed) are limited to 3/8-in. wide maximum.Vertical through openings between the curtain track assembly (if employed) and a partition opening are limited to 3/8-in. wide maximum.Horizontal through openings between the bottom of the curtain and the simulated floor of the test assembly are limited to 3/4-in. high maximum.
The test criteria for fire-protective curtains does not include an impact test (hose-stream test) as it is intended as a supplemental means of fire protection.
