Sacramental Life Fr. Russ

Welcome Fr. Linus Nwatarali I will be gaining a new house mate here at

the Pius rectory. Fr. Linus Nwatarali

moved in here this past Sunday. Fr. Linus

will be exercising his priestly ministry as a

Chaplain for the Mayo Clinic. It will be

nice to have occasional company. Soon, I will ask Fr.

Linus to pen here in the bulletin a little something

about him in order for us to become familiar with

him. So please welcome Fr. Linus as he joins us here

and, in the near future as he settles in, becomes a

permanent presence for the St. Pius Parish Community.

2021 Catholic Ministries Appeal I want to thank all who contributed to the 2021

Catholic Ministries Appeal. Your generosity makes

possible the various ministries for this local Southern

Minnesota Diocese. The results thus far for St. Pius’

Contribution to this annual appeal are:

Parish Goal: $73,800 Total Donations: $76,185

Contributing Households: 256

St. Pius Faith Formation / Youth Ministry Position Opening St. Pius is still seeking qualified applicants for the

position of Director of Faith Formation / Youth

Ministry. If you know of anyone you believe would

be a good fit for this position, please direct them this

way. And if you happen to see Katie Stinson, please

let her know how thankful/grateful you have been for

her presence here at Pius over the years. We sure will

miss her presence here as an employee but Katie, Eric,

and their children will still be joining us for the

celebrations of the Eucharist and all that goes along

with our parish activities. God bless you Katie!!!

Please remember in your prayers,

Jane Clark †

Mother of: Russell Clark

May Jane and the all the souls of the

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

A process for welcoming adult inquirers to the

Catholic Church.

If you know of someone who desires becoming

Catholic, tell them to contact Betty.

Purpose: To assist prospective Catholics to become

active members of the faith community and to

revive the missionary spirit of all members.

It is divided into four periods of time:

Inquiry: Time to share stories, reflection on the place of

God in our lives.

Catechumenate: Time to develop understanding of

church teachings, participate in liturgy of the Word

and to become active in the faith community.

Enlightenment and Purification: (Usually coincides with

Lent) Time to deepen faith and prayer life

concludes with the sacraments of initiation -

Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

Mystagogia: Time to experience participation in the life

of the faith community, share Eucharist, live and

pray the gospel in daily life.

Principal's Message We hope that our families are able to enjoy the last

couple weeks of summer with some quality time spent

together. One thing we have all had the opportunity

to learn over the course of this pandemic is to not take

anything for granted and to hopefully enjoy the things

in life that really matter. Our preparations for the

school year are well under way, with the faculty and

staff of St. Pius X School coming back to school next

week. Our school office hours will be returning to

more consistent daily hours the week of August 23rd,

as there are some trainings next week for all

staff. Please call ahead if you are planning to come

into the school office.

We are excited to welcome back the students in our

school community on August 30th and 31st and also to

welcome several new members to our school. As the

school year approaches, please don't hesitate to reach

out to me with any questions you might have, via

email or phone (507-282-5161) and I will get back to

you as soon as I can. Please know of my prayers for

all of our families, teachers, and staff as we prepare for

another exciting school year.

May God be with you always,

Dave Jenson
