- Artist Statement Jacklyn (Heeyun Kim) has been studying comic art in M.F.A. at MCAD since this fall 2012. She

originally majored in fine art—painting and drawing—but has done a couple of self-publication in comic art as her private projects even while attending college as fine art major. Her current work focuses on the usage of motifs and symbolic figures that have appeared in her previous paintings and drawings, and psychological dystopian theme of narratives and related characters. By illustrating the individuals’ inner problems with the motifs, which are labeled as ‘personal dystopia’, she aims to show how much disconnected people are to each other and how individuals’ making decisions makes life different.

Jacklyn Kim also has done client-based artworks, and worked for Korea Performance Art Spirit and Google AdWord Express project. Besides, she worked on a couple of illustrations for iOS based-kid story applications.
