Run the following posters on colored construction paper (If you want to keep it ultra

organized, you can run the posters on the color of the word wall words. {In this case, red} Then you will know which posters go with which introduction of word wall words.

The essential questions will help you guide and focus instruction. These unit resourcesare sequential. They will build upon one another and spiral review as well. Each unit willcontain different colored word wall/vocab. cards. I make both a word wall and a ringof vocab. cards. These remind me to use math language with my kids. It also keeps

me on track for introducing concepts in a timely manner. {at the end of the unit see ifyour students can match the definition to the word- On the last week of the unit, wematch up 3-5 words per day together as a class. These units are about 3 weeks induration. Some will have more words and concepts than others.

Remember we want to introduce these concepts in this unit, not master them all. Use

concrete and pictorial examples and then allow for application in written form afterstudents have become well experienced with the concept. Too many times we rush tothe guided practice without plenty of concrete and pictorial practice. At this time ofyear, mastery is not going to happen with all concepts right away. The concepts willspiral. Just keep providing lots of hands on and visual practice.
