A Struggle to Survive a Legacy

Hey guys! Little White Comet here just giving you a little run down on what’s going on with the Legacy.As you’ve probably noticed my storyline skills with the Sims is getting a bit better, last chapter I did my first staged scene out of the Legacy lot and with only 1 legacy sim. That was a lot easier than I thought it be so you can guarantee there’s going to be more like it!But because of how the storylines are this means chapters are getting longer so you’re going to be seeing chapters that come in parts A,B and C in the future.This is one of them. Just because Jessica is heir doesn’t mean Fabian will fade in the background just yet, there’s a very important plot point I opened in chapter 3 that hasn’t yet been solved. It’s also because Fabian and Jessica are so apart in age and she won’t be going to college until Fabian’s in his Junior year and I can’t just have you read Fabian going through college, you need a story and I’ve given you one.Just a fair warning you might find a couple of scenes in this a bit...frightening? I don’t know it doesn’t really scare me but I’m an Otaku so I can’t really tell you what might be scary or not. It could be a bit surprising so just be warned, alright?Anyway I hope you guys enjoy it! Happy Simming ^_^.

Last Time: We follow Jessica to school and meet many of her classmates but it’s Justin Cleveland and Benji Curious who get’s the spotlight.Benji ends up stealing Jessica’s First Kiss after a long day of school and in a panic Jessica phones Fabian for advices. It turns out to be good advice and the two teenagers end up going steady on the same night that Elijah and Puck grew into elders.Puck briefly turned into a Plant!Sim before he aged up but then he turned into one again some time later and this time decides to stay as one.Jesse and Tara’s ghost appear and things seemed to keep getting worse Puck who seems to be their main target; his demotion at work is the last straw and Puck turns himself back into a Human Sim.Jessica receives 2 scholarships before leaving to join Fabian at college.We finally meet the Lopane’s boss Destiny, who is the brother of Fate and he had a new plan. Instead of waiting 17 years for the next generation though he decides to, once again, go after Fabian and Jessica.

Fabian Junior stared at the dorm in front of him with narrowed eyes as he crossed his arms over his chest.He was, once again, doubting his decision to go through with college; something just didn’t feel right to him but he thinks that might be his big brother instincts talking.“Maybe I should just head back.” He muttered to himself and was just reaching for his suitcase when he heard someone call his name.“Fabian? Fabian Junior?”

“Dustin?” Fabian gasped in shock and Dustin Broke smiled happily in response.“I thought it was you! It’s been so long Fabian, how have you been?” Dustin asked as he started walking towards the him, his smile still in place.

Fabian though gawped at Dustin in complete shock. How could such an innocent question throw out every sense of control you have?“I-I’ve been fine! Great actually! How about you?” Fabian lied with a nervous grin.

Dustin stared at Fabian flatly before resting his hands on his hips.“I know it’s been a while since we’ve seen each other Fabian but you don’t have to lie to me.” Dustin said and Fabian blushed as he looked down to the ground.“I-I’m sorry Dustin it’s just...” Fabian mumbled.

Dustin sighed as he reached forward and brushed his hand against Fabian’s cheek lightly, allowing the brown locks to fall through his fingers.“You don’t have to tell me anything if you don’t want to, Fabian. I’m not going to force you to talk if you’re not ready.” Dustin reassured and Fabian swallowed with difficulty as he stared into Dustin’s honest blue eyes.“I-I can’t...I can’t...” Fabian mumbled as tears started rolling down his cheeks .

Fabian couldn’t stop the sobs that tore from his throat even if he wanted to but Dustin was there wrapping his arms around him and trying to calm him down.

“Lets get some coffee.” Dustin suggested and Fabian nodded as the last of his tears dried up.

So the two of them both got coffee and sat outside the cafe. Dustin didn’t push in fact he told Fabian about how his mother had remarried to his best friend’s father Darren Dreamer. His little brother and sister, Beau and Sophie, moved in with both Darren and Dirk, his son, just before the wedding. Dustin also admitted that his newest baby brother, River, had celebrated his 1st birthday just before Dustin left for college.Suddenly Fabian found it a lot easier to talk to Dustin about everything that happened to him; he told him about the fight he had with Imogen before they taken by Alissa and Sebastian. He told him about the agony he during his time in their presences an finally, his voice almost a whisper, Fabian admitted how Imogen sacrificed herself to keep Jessica alive.

By the end their coffee was gone and Fabian’s tears were all gone; somehow Dustin had moved to wrap his arms around Fabian, who smiled happily in response.Somewhere between the chat though Fabian found himself once again falling for Dustin Broke and he was happy to note that the blonde was falling right beside him.

Eventually the two of them returned to the dorm where they picked their rooms, unpacked and changed their clothes and hair.One of the first things Fabian did though was unpack his guitar and start to tune it right; he was glad his parents had convinced him to bring it along with him to college.

In the next room Dustin had also just finished setting up his instrument and was just settling down to play; he paused though as he heard Fabian starting to play on his guitar and with a smile Dustin quickly joined in.Their music filled the dorm that night but none of the dormies complained.

After choosing their majors both Fabian and Dustin settled down to get their Term Papers over and done with.

With him buying clothes, paint and school supplies Fabian wasn’t surprised with how quickly his money ran out.Mrs Jenkins was more than happy for him to help her out in the cafeteria though, even though she looked a bit shock at the sight of Fabian’s ears after he put his hair up.

Time flew fast for the two boys and it wasn’t long before the two of them were off to their half term exams.They both passed with high grades and got on the Dean’s List.

As it goes though the two of them quickly got their Term Paper’s over and done with.

Fabian found it pretty hard to get on with his much more active dormies but when he spotted Shawn Vijayakar nervously standing in the corner.With a surprising burst of courage Fabian struck up a conversation and it wasn’t long until the two of them were great friends.

Fabian was happy to admit that he didn’t regret going to college. He was really enjoying himself and he was always happy to tell his family as such when they phoned.

Fabian had long since learned to hide his true emotions behind a mask though. He may be smiling around everyone but when he was on his own in his room his true feelings came out with vengeance. By invading his dreams.

“Huh? Why’s it so dark? Where the hell am I?”

“Who’s that?”....“No wait! It can’t be! Imogen?”

“Imogen it is you, isn’t it? Oh I’m so glad you’re alright! You have no idea how much it hurt when I found out you’ve been killed. Everyone else will be so glad too.”....“Imogen? What’s wrong? Why haven’t you said anything?”“...why Fabian?”“What?”

“Why Fabian? Why did you let me die?”“What?! No! I didn’t! I-I didn’t mean too! I-I was in s-so much pain! Please Imy you’ve got to believe me!”“Why? I’m not your sister, you even admitted to not ever feeling protective of me, why would you protect me?”“No Imy! I’m sorry I said all those horrible things but I was a kid and was so jealous of you! If I thought this would have happened I never would have said them!”...“Imy Please, say something!”“....Why?”

“Why did you kill me, Big Brother?!”

“AHH!” Fabian screamed as he shot up from his sleep gasping for breath; sweat was dripping heavily from his forehead and he could feel the exhaustion weighing down on him like steeled weights.

He had suffered from insomnia and violent nightmares ever since he had woken up in the hospital; Imogen’s death had haunted him as he knew she had died thinking that he had hated him.But for some reason they were now worst than ever. His nightmares had never been so disturbing and it terrified him; for once he was glad his markings covered the bottom of his eyes as they hid the dark bags from the view of his protective and worried boyfriend.Suddenly someone knocked on his door.“Someone’s on the phone for you, Fabian!” Esmeralda called out and Fabian sighed as he forced his nightmare away from his mind and got himself up.

“Hello?” Fabian asked after he picked up the phone just outside his door. A sad sigh came from down the line before someone finally spoke.“Kusanar*.” “Desh'ketai*? What the matter? Why are you calling me so early? Is Jessica alright?” Fabian questioned worriedly knowing full well that Puck would only call him by his Elven name if something was wrong.

--*Kusanar- Twilight. This is Fabian’s Elven name and this is what he is called when confronted by elves, Puck and also his baby sister Jessica.*Desh'ketai-Father

“You’re sister is fine Kusanar, she’s resting at the moment it hasn’t been an easy night for us here.”“What do you mean? Did Jessica grow up badly?” “No it’s nothing to do with that. Kusanar it’s your grandparents.” Puck admitted and Fabian swallowed hard feeling as if something was stuck in throat.“What do you mean, Desh'ketai? What’s wrong with Pappy and Grandmamma?”

“Your grandparents passed away last night, Kusanar. Their gone, I’m sorry son.” Puck finally admitted and Fabian’s eyes widened in shock as he tried to think up a response to that.“W-what? T-their dead b-but...” Fabian stammered uselessly trying to form words around the horrible lump that seemed to be in his throat.“Kusanar?”“T-thanks for calling Desh'ketai b-but I’ve g-got to go okay? G-got studying t-to do.”

“Kusanar-” Puck objected but Fabian knew he couldn’t listen to his father anymore and quickly hung up the phone with a strained goodbye.He then stared at the device blankly, trying to make himself move again.They were gone. His loving grandparents, the two people who he went to when his parent’s were too tired from Imogen.The two people who had been a constant fixture in his life had been taken from him.

“Fabian? What’s the matter?” Dustin questioned as he walked out of the shower room to see Fabian staring at the phone with blank eyes.

Dustin’s voice broke through Fabian’s emotionless shell and he was already sobbing by the time he faced the blonde properly.Why does it seem like his family is determined to die off all around him?!“Oh Fabian...” Dustin whispered as he walked forward and placed his arm over the Junior’s shoulders.

Months passed and with Dustin’s help Fabian found himself smiling once again. It was strange to see one without the other around the dorm and when they were together they were always in contact somehow.

One day though when Fabian was getting back from class Dustin cornered him outside the door.“Fabian I’m sorry I couldn’t afford to take you somewhere fancy to do this but I hope that it wouldn’t matter to you.” Dustin admitted as he got down on one knee and Fabian smiled.“Dustin what are you doing?”

“Fabian Junior, my soul mate and the love of my life, will you do me the honour of becoming Fabian Broke?” Dustin proposed as he pulled out a beautiful silver ring with a ruby that glowed brightly.“ Oh Dustin...” Fabian breathed in shock as he covered his mouth with his hand.“I’m sorry if it’s not perfect but it was all I could afford.” Dustin admitted in embarrassment and Fabian laughed as he plucked the ring from the case.

“You idiot! I don’t care about the ring. Of course I’ll marry you.” Fabian said and Dustin grinned as he slipped the ring of Fabian’s finger before pulling him into a hug.“Good.”

For the first time in many years Fabian experienced true happiness.

He hoped with every fibre of his being that the happiness would last. “Hello?” Dustin asked as he picked up the phone after being told by another dormie it was for him; he was expecting his mum or one of his siblings but the deep voice that answered back defiantly wasn’t what he expected.“How is it coming along?” The voice demanded and Dustin swallowed hard as he looked around before finally answering.“Fine.” Dustin stated simply and the person chuckled.

“Fine? So you’re not getting close to the Junior brat then?” Dustin licked his lips as he looked at the ring on his finger that Fabian had got for him the other day.“N-no! I wouldn’t do that, why would I?” Dustin demanded and the person chuckled again.“Why would you indeed. Especially seeing as you have so much at stake.” The person purred and before Dustin could reply he hung up.

Fabian noticed how strange Dustin had been acting since his last phone call; he seemed to be more desperate to spent time with him than ever.Not that Fabian minded mind you, he loved spending time with Dustin but he couldn’t help but worry; why the sudden desperation?

Fabian’s nightmares still continued to torment his sleep.

“Imogen it is you, isn’t it? Oh I’m so glad you’re alright! You have no idea how much it hurt when I found out you’ve been killed. Everyone else will be so glad too.”....“Imogen? What’s wrong? Why haven’t you said anything?”“...why Fabian?”“What?”

“Why Fabian? Why did you let me die?”“No! No not this again! I can’t take anymore of this!”“Well how do you think I felt Fabian? I threw myself in front of Jessica, the girl I was always jealous off and got myself killed. I died knowing full well hated me!”“No Imy! I never hated you, ever! I was a stupid kid! A stupid, selfish kid who wanted nothing more than his parents to look at him again! I’m sorry! I’m sorry you died and if I could I would go back and change everything!”“Why?!”“Because I’m your Big Brother!”“Then why’d you do it?”What?”

“Why did you kill me, Big Brother?!”“NO!!!”

“AHH!” Fabian screamed as he once again shot up from his sleep gasping for breath.As soon as he calmed down though he groaned and rubbed his gritty eyes.“Amonta de' Toya*! I can’t keep doing this! Soon enough I’m going to do something stupid and probably get myself killed.” Fabian growled to himself angrily and clenched his eyes shut as the horrifying image of Imogen flashed before his eyes.

“Maybe I deserve this though.” He muttered to himself sadly before pushing his covers back and heading down to the cafeteria.Hopefully he’s be able to get some nice pancakes before they start getting crispy.

“’ello?” Fabian mumbled into the phone a few hours later having been on his way back to bed before it started ringing.“Fabian? It’s Jess I need your help.” Jessica’s voice came cheerily down the line proving that she had been awake for hours before ringing him.“And this couldn’t have waited until a decent time because?” Fabian demanded before yawning.“I waited until 7.” Jessica muttered and Fabian knew she was pouting.

“Okay. What’s so important you had to call me at 7 in the morning?” Fabian question and sighed when Jessica refused to answer; it took a couple of seconds before she decided to just blurt it out.“Benji kissed me at school yesterday.” “What?” Fabian shouted out in shock but before he could say anything else Jessica babbled on.“I had my first kiss with Benji on Friday and now I don’t know what to do. He’s so shy Fabian, he’s got no outgoing points at all, and he’s so serious too; it’s hard to talk to him sometimes. I mean how do I respond to this? The most shyest boy in school kissed me!”

Fabian couldn’t stop himself laughing even if he wanted to.“Stop laughing at me Fabian! This is serious!”“Hehe. I’m sorry Jess, I don’t mean to laugh at you but the fact your getting into such a state over this is hilarious.” Fabian chuckled as he shook his head.“Fabian...”“Okay well you’re really panicking over nothing, Jess.”“What do you mean?”“Well if he’s too shy to do anything, what’s wrong with you making the first move? You do have 8 outgoing points.” Fabian pointed out dryly and Jessica fell silent in shock.“Hey you’re right. If he can’t make the first move then I should do it instead! Thanks Fabian!”When Jessica finally hung up Fabian shook his head with another laugh and wondered if he was ever that dramatic at Jessica’s age.

It was later that night as he slowly stirred his Mac & Cheese did Fabian realise he would be heading to his final exams in just a few hours.“Wow it’s been a whole year already.” He whispered to himself with a small smile. He couldn’t believe how fast time had flown and he knew that the moment he become a Sophomore he was allowed to move out of the dorms.He hoped Dustin would come with him as well, that would just make everything perfect.

In no time both Fabian and Dustin were on their way to their finale exams.Both passed the exams but only Fabian made it on the Dean’s list this time. When Fabian voiced his concern Dustin simply shrugged and said he couldn’t get on it every year.

As soon as he got back to his dorm Fabian quickly jumped on his computer and started house searching.To his shock he found 2 floor house that not only had a garage but also a balcony and a conservatory. After a quick count of both his and Dustin’s savings Fabian realised that together the two of them could afford it.“I’ll ask Dustin first.” He whispered as he quickly walked out of the dorm to hunt down his fiancé.

Lucky enough Dustin was just on his way to his own dorm when Fabian walked out of his.“Ah! Dustin can I talk to you for a second?” Fabian called knowing full well the blonde was usually very tired after an exam.“Sure. What is it?” Dustin reassured with a tired smile and Fabian returned it with his own.“Well I’ve found this brilliant house just up the hill that we could both move into if your up to it.”

“Really? That’s great Fabian I would love too!” Dustin laughed and Fabian giggled slightly.“It’s pretty big but that’s because it used to be an Old Greek house that go shut down for some scandal the members were involved with. I was thinking of using it to reopen my family’s Greek House.” Fabian explained and Dustin nodded.“That’s fine. I was hoping to join a Greek House anyway.” Dustin shrugged and Fabian kissed him thankfully.

With a quick registration the Annya-Cham-Hoh-Var Greek House was back in action where it looked over Stritford University from on top the hill.

It didn’t take long for either Fabian nor Dustin to settle in and it wasn’t long before the two of them were starting on their Term Papers in their new library.

Fabian also took charge of making sure both he and Dustin were fed, especially when his fiancé got distracted by 1 of the many games they had lying around the house.“Dustin! Pizzas here.” Fabian called out as Dustin danced in front of the arcade game in celebration of his recent win.“Great! I’m starving.”

Fabian’s nightmares still continued to torture his mind and make him unable to have an actual decent night sleep.He also found out the problem of sharing a room with Dustin.

It meant he could no longer hide them from him.“This is all your fault! Why didn’t you save me Big Brother?!”

“Imogen!” Fabian cried out as he shot up from his sleep, placed his hand on his chest and struggled to catch his breath.

“F’b’an?” Dustin mumbled sleepily as he turned his light on and forced himself to sit up; he could hear Fabian still struggling to catch his breath and quickly turned to face his fiancé.

10 minutes later Fabian had finally calmed down and stared at Dustin with sleepy light blue eyes.“I’m sorry Dustin. I didn’t mean to wake you.” He apologized before covering a yawn up behind his hand.

“I’ve never heard someone scream like that from a nightmare, Fabian. Have you been suffering from these since Imogen died?” Dustin questioned gently and Fabian bit his lip silently.“You know you can’t keep going on like this, right? You can’t never have a full nights sleep.”

“I know but I’m doing a lot better. At least I’m actually getting some sleep before I hardely ever got any sleep and I just stayed up all night.” Fabian admitted sheepishly before he looked to the ground.“I’m sorry I woke you.”

“Well I might forgive you if you make some of your delicious pancakes.” Dustin hinted with a smile which Fabian gladly returned.

With all the trouble of getting the Greek house the boys suddenly found the half term exams a lot closer than they realised.The moment they had their status firmly in their grasp they both tuckered down and tuckered down and studied hard.That meant doing assignments...

..and researching together in the attack into the early hours of the morning.

Soon enough both were going to their exams on a surprisingly bright day in autumn.

They both passed with B’s and even though Fabian didn’t get on the Dean’s list he was honestly happy he actually managed to pass this time.Dustin, of course, was there to congratulate him with a kiss.

Later that day Fabian took the chance to go around the campus for a while and try and get some pledges for their Greek House.While he did find quite a few people to make friends with he couldn’t help notice that they all wore a strange uniform.He also ran into his friend Shawn who was more than happy to see him.

Dustin blinked as he walked through the front door hearing the phone ring, quickly he ran for it and barely managed to answer it in time.“Annya-Cham-Hoh-Var Society house.” Dustin answered waiting for an answer but he tensed when a horribly familiar voice answered back.“Society House? Are you that close to the boy that you moved into your own place together?”

“O-of course not! But I can’t just do what you want me to do, I need to get as close to him as possible.” Dustin objected and the voice chuckled.“You better be careful Dustin Broke, you are walking on a very fine line. One slip and you won’t be the only one who falls.” The voice warned and before Dustin could objected he hung up.“Damn it.” The blonde cursed as he slammed the phone back down on the receiver.

“C-can I help you?” Fabian questioned nervously after the strange woman in sun glasses walked into the house, uninvited, and then chicken danced in front of him.“You’re coming with me kid. You’ve caught the attention of some very important people.” Ruby Harrison stated firmly as she forcibly turned Fabian around, handcuffing his hands behind him.“B-but I haven’t done anything!” Fabian objected causing Ruby to look him strangely.“Geez and here I was thinking you were going to be a pain in the ass like your grandfather was.” She scoffed as she started leading him outside.“You knew my Pappy?”

Of course Fabian had nothing to worry about as he was welcomed happily as the 3 rd Generation of Juniors to become a Secret Society member.While Fabian was happy to note many of his close friends were there he really didn’t see any reason to stay there too long and quickly went home.

When the limo dropped him back home, Fabian was surprised to see Michael waiting for him at the poker table.Slightly curious on what was going on Fabian pulled up chair and allowed Michael to deal him.

It was silent between the two of them for a few minutes and just as Fabian’s about to ask himself what Michael wanted, the butler looked up at him.“Seeing as your very instant on not telling your family about your nightmares I would like to know what you plan on doing when Miss Jessica moves in here.” Michael pointed out dryly as he threw his cards into the middle.

Fabian looked down at the green table in thought, the fact Jessica would be joining the Greek house when she’s a Sophomore had actually slipped his mind.“It just...I don’t want to burden her with my nightmares when she still suffers with her own.” Fabian admitted not at all ashamed to revealing this to Michael as he had worked for the Junior familiar since Jesse and Tara first got married.

“Well it’s not my place to tell you what to do Mr Fabian but may I offer you some advice?” Michael requested and when Fabian nodded he continued on.“Don’t hide things from Miss Jessica. She may be your baby sister but she’s very intelligent and she will find out eventually. It would be better if it came from you instead of her finding out through her boyfriend’s mouth, who will be sharing a room with you.” Michael said as he looked at his new cards with a smirk.

Fabian sighed as he fiddled with one of his chips in thought. He knew Michael was right but it would be hard to just open up to Jessica. He loved her dearly but he was so used to protecting her, he sometimes forgot that she could help him just as much as he helps her.“I’ll think about it.” Fabian finally conceded with a smile as he revealed his hand. A royal flush.“Seems like this round goes to you, Mr Fabian. Care for another one?” Michael asked a he started shuffling the cards once again.

Keeping a Greek House in order was hard work, doing that and keeping their grades up was even harder and because of it the two of them hardily had any time together.Of course when they do had time they take full advantage of it like spending as much time in the hot tub as possible together.

Their finale exams came quickly and soon enough both boys were rushing off.They both passed with A+’s and, to their shock, they both go on the Dean’s list this year.

“So Juniors huh? I feel like making some sort of pun here.” Dustin whispered and Fabian glared at him slightly.“Please don’t. All I’ve heard today are jokes about by name.” Fabian grumbled and Dustin chuckled as he carefully took Fabian’s hand in his own, allowing him to see the still shining engagement ring.“Just two more years.” Dustin said and Fabian smiled at him happily.

“Two more years and you’ll be mine forever.” Fabian whispered in returned and Dustin chuckled as he leaned in closer.“We’ll be together till the end. I promise Fabian.” Dustin swore and the brunet grinned as he allowed his eyes to close.“Just like a fairytale.” He whispered as Dustin finally connected their lips together.What Fabian was unaware of though, was how large a knife his words were creating and that knife was stabbing Dustin’s heart repeatedly even as he fell into the welcome embrace of passion.‘I’m sorry Fabian but...’

‘....blood is thicker than water. Family will always come before everything else. Even you.’Completely unaware of what was brewing in the Greek House, Jessica Junior stared up at the building which would be her home for the next year.“Well then let’s see what we can do with this, shall we?” Jessica whispered to herself as Benji Curious crossed his arms over his chest and smirked.“College here we come.”

“Uhh Dustin?”“Yes?”“How is it possible we’re able to skate when the whole arena is covered in water?”---Oh my god this took forever to get done! I’m so sorry guys I’ve been so busy lately and I’m afraid it’s not going to get any better.I’ve just started my 8 weeks worth of Job Experience which means my time for Sims and writing is limited.I have all the pictures taken for this whole chapter I just need to get the writing done so please be patient with me. I will get it done as soon as I can!Happy Simming ^_^
