What should a story include?

A story must include characters. These can be people, animals or creatures.

CHARACTERS

The protagonist is the “good guy” and is usually the main character of a story.

The antagonist is the “bad guy” or force who is against the protagonist.

THE ANTAGONIST

Man vs. Man Man vs. NatureMan vs. SocietyMan vs. MachineMan vs. Himself

CONFLICT

The plot are the main events of a story.

PLOT

This refers to the time and place of the story.

SETTING

The theme of a story is an idea that recurs in or pervades in a work of art or literature.

THEME

The climax is the turning point of a story; when the ultimate suspense reaches its peak.

This usually occurs close to the conclusion of the story. For example, the death of Romeo and Juliet.

THE CLIMAX

The point of view is the perspective of the story.

“The wolf tried to eat us all!!”-The three little pigs. “I simply wanted to borrow a cup of
