People: Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all God’s benefits,

Leader: who forgives all our iniquity, who heals all our diseases,

People: who redeems our lives from the grave, who crowns us with steadfast love

and mercy,

Leader: who satisfies us with good as long as we live,

People: so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Leader: This is the day that the Lord has made;

People: We will rejoice and be glad in it.

we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart, and mind, and

strength. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We have grieved your Holy

Spirit. In your mercy forgive what we have been. Help us to amend what we are.

Shape and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and walk in

your ways to the glory of your Holy Name. Amen.

ORDINATION AND INSTALLATION OF ELDERS AND DEACONS

INSTALLATION OF TRUSTEES AND PRESCHOOL BOARD

As we install these members, these are the questions we ask of the congregation….

Do we, members of Eastminster Church, accept Beth Anne, Georgia, Kate and Jan as

Elders; Tania, Lee, Sally and Kathy as Deacons; Linda as a Trustee; and Linda, Denny, and

Ellie as Preschool Board Member, chosen by God through the voice of this congregation, to

lead us in the way of Jesus Christ?

We do.

Do we agree to encourage them, to respect their decisions, and to follow as they guide us,

serving Jesus Christ, who alone is head of the church?

We do.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

NEXT SUNDAY, August 30, Pastor Guy Dunham will be with us. Our soloists will

be Janis McCollim and Tania O’Hearn.

CARD SHOWER -- The Pastor Nominating Committee would like to initiate a card

shower to the Gill family! We are asking the EPC community to send cards or notes to

Rev. Josh and family. This is an opportunity to welcome Josh and introduce yourself to

him. If you are inclined, please include a note about yourself which could include how

long you have been a member or friend of EPC, about your family, any work history, a

personal story, or anything you would like to share! The PNC’s goal is to give Josh a

way to start meeting some of our congregation. If you have a “hard copy” picture to

include that would be awesome and helpful as Josh gets to know us. (We did give Josh a

picture directory but, as we know, it is dated at this point.)

There is a basket in the Narthex for you to drop off your card or note if you are coming

in person to Sunday services, or you may bring it to the church office no later than

Monday. Beth Anne will be mailing all the correspondence to Josh and his family in one

package this week.

Reminder of Josh’s family:

Vicki (Josh’s wife); 3 sons: J.D. (10 years old), Sam (7 years old), Charlie (4 years old).

Thank you so much for helping us to welcome the Gill family to EPC and our

community. We are looking forward to sending the Gill’s a large package of greetings!
