The Young Indians (Yi) Bhopal Chapter was launched on 11 September

th

2012.We are proud to be the Silver Jubilee (25 Chapter) of Young Indian.This

was in the graceful presence of the National Office Bearers. The successful

launch was done alongside an Eye Donation Drive in association with the

Hamidia Hospital. Dr Reena Anand, Head of Department – Ophthalmology,

Hamidia Hospital gave a detailed presentation on the entire process of Eye

Donation. The drive was a huge success with almost 40 people signing the

Pledge Forms on the spot. Yi Bhopal plan to continue to organize similar events

in future.

6th October 2012

Yi Bhopal celebrated the “Joy of Giving” Week by organizing an activity of launching

Children’s Library & Play Zone. Yi Bhopal Education Co-chair, Ms Shweta Kataria

initiated the activity & it was done at Narela Shankari Govt School at village Narela

alongwith a drawing competition for the students on 'Social Awareness' topic, Yi

members also made posters on various social issues. The entire room was

decorated to be a perfect library for kids. Students were then given teachings on

clean/good habits, family values, traffic rules, importance of water etc. Donation

came in all forms; beautiful story books, toys, games, stationery etc. Yi Bhopal

plans to continue the support this school and other similar schools in future as well.

4th December 2012

Young Indian Bhopal chapter held a rendezvous with the famous ‘Mumbai Dabbawalas’ at

Career Business School. Dr. Pawan Agrawal, President, Mumbai Dabbawala Education

Centre, spent an afternoon of rapt attention with over 300 listeners, who were amazed by

the simplicity of perfection achieved in operation by the ‘Mumbai Dabbawalas’. ‘The

tradition and institution of Dabbawalas is unique to Mumbai owing to the unique corridor

type geography of the city coupled with the convenience of local trains” said Dr. Agrawal,

who has done his PhD on six sigma in supply chain excellence achieved by the community

through their day to day operation. Many MBA students were benefitted through this

session to learn the practical aspect of SCM.23rd December 2012

Yi Bhopal Chapter celebrated Christmas get-together and Members’ Meet along with

a Plantation Drive at Gyan Ganga Institute, Raisen Road, Bhopal. The Plantation Drive

was initiated by Environment Chair, Ms. Prakriti Jain, Franchisee Owner, ABP & Co &

Co-chair, Mr Amit Saxena, Owner, Sai Nursery. The entire team of Yi Bhopal along

with their families planted 35 plants in the premises of Gyan Ganga College. This

activity was clubbed with a Special Show of the Green Building CD. The screening of

CD motivated many of Yi Bhopal members to undertake necessary actions and

measurements in order to have a healthier environment. Apart from this, the

members also shared their activity ideas for the coming year.

23rd January 2013

CII and Yi Bhopal together organized a Consultation Meet for the United

Nations Development Program (UNDP) on “The World We Wanted 2015”.

This was organized at Hotel Residency, Bhopal. The Consultation was

headed by Prof. (Dr.) Anoop Swarup, Vice Chancellor at JLCU, Bhopal. He

was the Speaker and Moderator for the meet. Various CII and Yi Members

including the Chapter Chair, Mr. Manish Rajoria and Chapter Co – Chair, Ms.

Bhavana Banerjee. The talk was about the Socio – Economic Problems, the

major discussions and their possible solutions. The session ended with a

networking dinner and was enjoyed by all and it was proposed to have more

such sessions in future.

Yi Bhopal in association with Sant Hirdaram Girls College, Bhopal and Hamidia

Government Hospital, organized a Blood Donation Camp. Major participants were the

College students. The Girls showed lot of enthusiasm and conveyed through their

overwhelming participation that "FEAR" of Blood Donation has only become a myth

and there is lot of awareness already about its good results and the small contribution

we can make through this little act of ours. Yi members also participated in the camp,

contributing their part. We had over 200 registrations and have collected almost 100

units of blood. We plan to have more such camps in the coming future.

30th January 2013

Young Indians in association with the Gyan Ganga International Academy

organized a Drawing Competition followed by a Speech by Mrs. Asha

Shukla, Director & Head of Women’s Study, BU Bhopal on the occasion of

Girl Child Day. The speech was very enlightening and gave an insight to all

the students about respecting the Girl Child. The entire stage also

observed a silence of 2 minutes to pay tribute to our Martyrs and also to

The Father of Our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi who was assassinated on 30th

January. The age group were divided and different themes were given to

them for drawing competition. We witnessed a beautiful display of

Girl Child Day Celebration –

Yi Bhopal Blood Donation Camp

Yi Bhopal has started a drive called

“Right to Write”. This drive is to

create awareness and promote

education in the underprivileged

areas. The unused pages of the used

notebooks are being rebounded to

give it to those who has the

enthusiasm but probably not the

resources.
