A Step By Step Guide to Getting Started on Athena Connect
www.athenaconnect.com
Connections
After you’ve logged in scroll down the homepage until you get to the section below the big image at the top.
Click on the Connections tab.
Click on the Search tab
This is the basic search function, just type in the name of the person you want to connect with and click on ‘Search’.
If you don’t know someone’s name there’s also an ‘Advanced Search’ option.
I want to see who was there from my Athena group
Once the results from my search show up click on ‘Add as friend’ for the person(s) you want to connect with.
A window pops up for you to write a hello message where you can ask your chosen person to connect with you.
Then click on ‘Add Friend’ to send the message.
That’s it.
Finally it’s a good idea to regularly check your ‘Pending My Approval’ section to
make sure you haven’t accidently missed any friend requests that have been sent to you too.
Business Directory
On the homepage the link to the Business Directory is at the top of the page.
As you can see there are a number of categories to choose from.
Choose the category/categories that are right for you and then add your listing.
Add the information about your product or service that fits into this category,
including contact information.
Click ‘Submit’
Your new listing now appears in alphabetical order with the others in your chosen category
Repeat for all the categories that your products and services will fit into.
What’s On?
On the homepage the link to What’s On? is at the top of the page.
You can either browse the events via the categories at the top or by going through them page by page.
To find out more about an event and confirm your attendance click on the name of the event.
Repeat for all the events you are interested in attending.
You can also add your own events if you have your own group or run training workshops, for example.
On the What’s On? homepage click on ‘Create’.
Fill in all the relevant information and then click on ‘Create Event’ to add it to the list.
Repeat for as many events as you have to add.
