A Social Agenda Powered by Science
The Social is FundamentalOur most pressing issues have something fundamental in common: they are about people and their social interaction. In fact, social determinants have more impact on the well-being of individuals than any other single factor — more than genetics, the environment, disease, technology, or other large-scale forces.
The Grand Challenges are informed by the deep evidence base of scientific social work research and proven, scalable approaches.
Recognizing the power of collaboration, the Grand Challenges actively engage leaders from a wide range of disciplines and sectors, including technology, medicine, government, and business.
We all have a role to play in promoting individual and family well-being, a stronger social fabric, and a just society — the ultimate goals of the Grand Challenges.
Join UsWe invite you to join us at the nexus of science and social action. Together, we can:
• Take proven, evidence-based approaches to scale in critical areas.
• Achieve greater impact in ongoing research and practice.
• Collaborate with researchers, practitioners, and colleagues in many disciplines to create transformational, lasting social change.
Perhaps more than any other time in our history, our society is facing urgent, large-scale challenges. Violence. Mass incarceration. Environmental degradation. Population aging. Inequality.
Forging the effective solutions we need is only possible when we unite around a bold strategic agenda for social change. The Grand Challenges define just such a platform — a call for positive, evidence-based social innovation, attainable within a decade.
