Pastry是微軟研究院提出的可擴展的分散式物件定位和路由式通訊協定,可用於建造 0 大規模的 P2P系統。在 Pastry中,每個節點分配一個 128位元的節點標識符號 (nodeID),所有的節點識別字形成了一個環形的 nodeID空間,範圍從 0 到 2128-1,節點加入系統時通過雜湊節點 IP地址在128位址 nodeID空間中隨機分配。
