Infants and toddlers from birth to at least age 2 should always:lRide in a rear-facing car seat made for their size and age. lSit in the back seat of a vehicle and never in front of an air bag.

Infants should ride inrear-facing car seats.

Be sure to buckle up right:lFollow all instructions for your child’s car seat and your car to be certain the seat is fastened correctly.

lMake sure the car seat has all of its parts and has never been in a crash.

lThe car seat should be fastened tightly in your vehicle and should not move more than one inch in any direction.

lThe harness should be even with or below the infant’s shoulders. The chest clip should be at armpit level.

lThe car seat straps should fit snugly against your child. You should not be able to pinch the buckled strap between your fingers.

Never leave your child alone in a car!
