– Statoil Defined Barrier Standard, TR2385
– ISO 17078-2 V1 + Further Flow, Erosion, Cyclic,
Limited-Leak-Rate Testing.
– 10000 psi WP, 150 Deg C Operating Temperature.
– Availability of Metal to Metal Only, and M/M + Flexible Seal

• What are the Significant Gas Lift Issues?
• DVX Used as Multiple Barrier option, effectively 4
checks in line
• DVX and Internal Valves Check Systems tested to
Zero Leakage after 2 Barrels per Minute Erosion
Flow
• Wells all Integrity Tested Regularly in accordance
with Norsok D-10
• No failed integrity tests in 5 years
Marathon Alvheim Area Wells
• One well equipment very recently returned for
examination
• Tubing was Tested prior to being Pulled
• Both Assemblies Pressure Tested and Passed
• No Erosion
• No Breakage
• Some Debris
• Ongoing Engineering Review for Lessons Learned
Statoil – Statfjord 2012 Barrier Gas Lift Valve
• Valve Testing completed to Statoil TR2385
Standards 2011
• Metal To Metal Check Sealing only
• 1st Units installed in January 2012
• 14 Wells equipped with new valve
• All units being tested per Norsok D-010 monthly
• No Units Returned from any wells
