Islam is one of the major religions in society today and has been around almost as

long as Christianity. Though there are such racial impressions and controversies

surrounding the religion, it is still one of the richest in terms of history and ancestry. It is

similar to most religions in a sense that the god they worship, "Allah", is the god many

other religions worship. But each religion has its own set of practices and some of

these rituals are quite unique. First off is how many gods they worship. Although they

say that they worship the same God as we do the worshiping stops there for them. As

we also give praise to the Holy Trinity, and Hinduism worship their parade of gods; Allah

is the only one for the Islamic religion. As for prayer, we all know the rosary and how

we use it as a guide for prayer. Islam practices the same gesture, in the form of five

prayers distributed amidst the day. They do this every day without fail while facing the

Mecca. Lastly, every religion has its own special traditions that they always uphold.

The Muslims have their Ramadan which goes on for forty days where they must fast

until the last prayer of the day.

Since Islam as a religion was growing much more popular as time passed,

Muhammad did his best to spread Islam which had started in 634 AD up to 1453 AD

before the influence and power started to lose its flare. The Iberian branch of Islam

originated and formed in Europe and is judging by cultural differences between the

Middle East and Europe, they definitely had different characteristics as a religion. In the

end both religions only have very insignificant differences, the main difference is where

they originated and had greater influence, mainly Europe and the Middle East.
