Mississippi Sod ProducersThere are more than 50 commercial sod producers inMississippi who are growing approximately 5,000 acres ofquality turf grasses for vegetative establishment of homelawns, athletic fields, golf courses, parks, school play-grounds, industrial and business sites, highway rights-of-way, erosion and reclamation sites, and anywhere else man-aged turf is desirable. Bermuda grass, zoysia grass, cen-tipede grass, and St. Augustine grass are the four majorwarm-season turf species being grown with several culti-vars or varieties of each species available.
This quick reference guide is designed to help youlocate a producer who can provide you with the grassesand services you need to meet your turf establishmentdemands should it be sod for a lawn, sprigs for an athleticfield, large rolls, etc.
