NUS High School woke up to a buzz of excitement on 29 th May, 2015. It was the last day of school for the semester, but the excitement wasn’t about that. It was a big day for the school - the celebration of its 10th Anniversary. Staff and students worked hard for this event, and we were honoured to have Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean as our Guest of Honour for the Speech Day cum 10 th Anniversary Celebrations. Here are a few snapshots of what took place. A Quick Glance at our 10th Anniversary Celebrations Our Performing Arts CCAs put together a vibrant showcase of skill and passion. Guest of Honour, DPM Teo and Prof Tan Eng Chye, Chairman of our BOG, putting the last pieces (π in the school logo) on the mosaic art piece that was put together the week before by staff and student runners during the schools’ Run for Rice charity event. As part of the celebrations, an exhibition titled “Looking through a lens: Images of a student’s life” was put together to showcase the school’s progress in both the academic and non-academic areas. Our students were presenters at the exhibition. DPM Teo receiving a token of appreciation from Dr Hang. The token of appreciation was a piece of artwork that was done by Year 6 student Li Chenyang. DPM Teo had the opportunity to talk to our alumni, some who flew back from overseas universities to attend this event. More than 70% of our graduates have taken up courses in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in university. A colourful lightstick performance put up by our students during the launch. The display followed a song that based on the digits of π.

And of course, what is a school’s birthday celebration without its alumni? Our Homecoming event took place after the concert for our alumni and ex-staff. It was a night of nostalgia, looking back to the good times as everyone grew together with the school.Below
