Dear Reader

I am glad that, once again, IGL has maintained its tempo of growth in the fi rst quarter of

FY’09. During this period, the CNG sales volume increased by 17 percent and PNG sales volume by 20.83 percent over Q1 of 2007-08. Overall, there has been 17.3 percent growth in sales volume in the quarter, thereby resulting in a growth of 13.7 percent in net profi t after tax over the corresponding quarter of FY08.

The recent spurt in the number of private cars converting to CNG has thrown up a big challenge for us. We are in the process of enhancing capacity at our existing CNG stations to meet the ever- growing demand from our users. At the same time, we are looking at technological solutions to reduce transaction time for customers at CNG stations by installing dispens-ers with pre-set metering.

With a number of challenges in front of us, there is a need to main-tain synergy in every segment of our operation. I am sure that our team will rise to the occasion and remain committed towards providing the eco-friendly and economical energy solutions to the residents of the region. My best wishes to the entire IGL Family.

Manmohan Singh
