Dear Parents,
Cupcakes for Kids with Cancer
Thank you to everyone for their overwhelming support of our Cupcake for
Kids with Cancer Day. It was fantastic to see so many of you supporting
this wonderful cause. We managed to raise $2280 for the John Hunter
Hospital Paediatric Oncology Unit.
WSLA P&C Meeting
The WSLA P&C Meeting will be held at Morisset High School on Thursday
23rd June. It starts at 6pm for those who wish to attend.
Reconciliation Week
On Thursday all classes K-6 will be engaged in activities for Reconciliation
Week. Athol will be working with all classes throughout the day. Our Year 5
and 6 Aboriginal students as well as our school leaders have been invited to
attend a yarning session with students, staff and community at Morisset
High School where they will be working to create an artwork. This was to
be held on this Wednesday but has been postponed to Friday 3rd June.
ICAS
Tomorrow the ICAS Science Assessment will take place.
Survey
A P&C survey was sent home last week (green paper). Please return the
survey as soon as possible for those still yet to do so. Everyone’s opinion
counts! We understand that some people are not interested in being a part
of the P&C and that is fine, however, we need ALL families to return the
note as it is important to know that too! All students who return the survey
this week will receive 5 dojo points!
PAYMENTS ON LINE – PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY
With the installation of the LMBR, we will be introducing the facility for
parents/guardians to make payment on line. You may see this option
available on our webpage, however, please DO NOT use this facility.
Parents will be notified when it is up and running. Thank you to everyone for
your assistance in this matter.
Have a great week.

WYEE PUBLIC SCHOOL Quality Learning, Respectful and Responsible Living
A personal thank you from Mrs Gomez A truly big and heartfelt thanks to everyone that was involved in the cupcake fundraiser, on
Friday. Whether you spent $1 on purple hair at recess or spent many an hour making cupcakes,
we are genuinely grateful.
The support and success of Wyee's day was amazing. What a great team and
community I work for! To have pulled off such a successful event in a 3 week turn
around is commendable. Having raised over $2000, I think you might have been the
most successful school to date!
It was a little overwhelming for our family, Jacinta in particular, seeing the show of
support. The smile on her face as she saw all the purple was priceless and we hope
that the picture of support will help her through the coming weeks.
Huge hugs and thanks from myself, Jacinta, Rick and Tynielle and those that work in the
Paediatric Oncology Ward at the John Hunter Children's Hospital

PAYMENTS TERM 2
Wyee Public School will transition to the new NSW Public Schools’ finance system and a new
bank account on 14th June 2016.
To ensure a smooth transition, there will be changes to the way we accept parent or carer
payments.
Between the 6th June and 17th June we will not be able to accept payments of cash, cheque or
eftpos as we prepare to close our current bank account and transition to the new one. After
this date, in addition to these payment methods, parents will also have the option of making
payments via the new POP system (Parent Online Payments). Details will be available soon.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we transition to our new finance system.
If you have any questions regarding this new system please contact the school office.
P&C Fete Committee
Our fete committee will be meeting tomorrow at 9.30am in the staff room to commence planning
and organising our Twilight Fair. All welcome. Please come along and share your ideas to help us
make this a successful event.
Star Struck ‘Our Heroes’
It was our first Major Movement Rehearsal at the
Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Thursday 26th May. We
rehearsed our dance with the other schools in our
performance ‘The Time Has Come’ and we rehearsed the
finale with all primary schools in Star Struck. Well done
Star Struck performers on another outstanding rehearsal!
We were very impressed with all student’s behaviour
throughout day.
Reminder to performers, all money and costume accessories
(white canvas lace up shoes and Chux purple dishwashing
gloves) need to be sent to school with your child’s name on
them.
Looking forward to the next rehearsal is at the Newcastle
Entertainment Centre on Wednesday 15th June.

WYEE PUBLIC SCHOOL Quality Learning, Respectful and Responsible Living
Congratulations to both the boys and girls who represented Wyee Public
School last Tuesday in soccer. Mr Russell was very impressed with how both
teams played! He was even more impressed with the great sportsmanship they
showed on and off the field–cheering each other on. The boys won 4-3,
unfortunately the girls lost 2-0 but a very close game. Mr Russell would like
to thank parents for coming and acknowledge the awesome girls for staying
back and cheering on the boys! Fantastic effort Wyee students!
Holden (5/6B) was proud
to bring his pet ‘Pop’ to
show his class mates on
Friday.
