newsletter entitled “Prism”.• I write a monthly article on a themed topic.• The topic for March 2014 is Autism

Book Review• Once a month I review a book on the same topic

as the newsletter.• In March I will review a book entitled “my Big

Brother Bobby- A Story to help kids understand angry feelings and behaviors in others, by: Rebecca Dauer

Tool Kit• We are in the process of creating a Tool Kit for

Employers who hire employees with an ASD.• It will be written from the point of view of

individuals on the spectrum and focused on helping employers to understand the needs of such a diverse group of individuals.

• It will include 17 units under employment, each of which will consist of an introduction, a personal story, a tool to learn the material, and exercises, to follow up the material, as well as lots of resources as well.

Advisory Committee• We have an advisory Committee which is

comprised of parents, professionals, and self-advocates

• One of the many things this committee is in charge of is vetting all materials we put on our website

• We meet once a quarter to discuss topics and get their advice on how things are going.

Partners• We work with many partners on different things,

but our main focus is self-advocates• Our two partners for this current year are SABE

(Self-Advocates Becoming Empowered, ASAN (Autistic Self-Advocacy Network)

• They provide us with webinars, written projects, host our advisory committee, and review materials and much, much more.
