PALM SUNDAY OF LENT, APRIL 6, 2020 3
To our Parishioners As this covid-19 struggle continues, please be assured of my prayers
Keep in mind - The Church will be open from 7 am to 7
pm daily EXCEPT DURING the daily live streamed Mass and Holy Hour. This is to keep to the guidelines of Governor Holcomb. - The Divine Mercy Chapel has been closed due to the difficulty of keeping it clean. - The 24 hour Chapel remains open, with 3 chairs (placed far apart). -A Thought: As you Spiritually take part in Holy Week, offer a prayer for Pope Francis and Bishop Rhoades
The Crucifix In these closing days of Lent. May we look upon the image of the Cross and the dying Christ, to realize He suffered for Love of us.
Acts of Lent -Pray Daily -Almsgiving Help someone in need -Fasting & Abstinence on Good Friday: 18 - 59 years old: Cut back on food intake with no food between meals. 14 years and up: No meat. -Confession:** Especially if there is a need due to mortal sin
**Are you in need of Confession? Publicly scheduled Confession times are not allowed., instead
please call the Parish office and leave a message for Fr. Thomas, Fr. Louis or Fr. Dave at 432-0268. You do not need to leave your name, but a brief message asking for Confession and your phone number.
The TRIDUUM begins - 3 Special days of Prayer/Fasting: Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday are days of even greater intensity than the 40 days of Lent. The Church encourages us to pray and fast. Easter is near. Some things about the Triduum Season No Funerals Masses during the Triduum. No Mass can be offered on Good Friday. No Candles burning before statues. When Does Easter begin? With the celebration of the Easter Vigil Mass. (Live streamed Saturday at 8:15 pm at seasfw.org)
Rice Bowls: a Lenten Discipline Just a reminder to bring your Lenten Rice Bowls in when we are able to begin public Mass again. God bless this outreach to help the less fortunate and poor.
Easter Letters
of Love This Lent, we have been reaching out to the
homebound, sick, and military overseas. If you wish to write a letter of love, please drop them off at the Welcome Center (the deadline is May 15) and we will make sure they get delivered. May God bless you for your service to those in need, p.s. most of us are homebound and would love something to do.
A Message from Bishop Rhoades
Though the Holy See has granted to bishops the faculty to postpone the Chrism Mass to a later date, I
have decided to still celebrate it during Holy Week. The Chrism Mass will be live-streamed on Holy Thursday at 10:00 am from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. I decided not to delay the Chrism Mass for two reasons: we have run very low on the Sacred Chrism and it would be difficult to celebrate at a later date that we cannot yet determine. I also think we will all be very busy after the lifting of the suspension of Masses with celebrating delayed baptisms, weddings, etc. I will also be celebrating many delayed Confirmations. There will be a diocesan-wide Stations of the Cross which I will lead live-streamed on Friday, April 3 at 7:00 pm. I encourage you to join in this great prayer which our diocese will offer up to the Lord for an end to the coronavirus epidemic, relief for those who are afflicted and eternal salvation for those whom the Lord has called to him. Let us continue to pray for one another and for an end to this pandemic. Thank you and may the Lord Bless you and your families.
Join us for Livestreamed Masses on seasfw.org

SOMETHING NEW FOR OUR
PARISHIONERSIn the wake of this unprecedented virus that is going around, we are very sad that we must close our office doors to you, our friends and family. Many of you have left messages as to how to continue donating during this time. We have recently put up a box (as seen above) outside the parish office door where you can drop off a contribution envelope that will be kept safe. Another safe way is online giving. All you need to do is go to the website seasfw.org, look for “Giving” just below the red ribbon and choose online giving. The instructions are on the page and can be done in just a few minutes. Thank you to those who are already donating online as this has greatly helped our parish in this time of need.We want you to know that the staff is working separate shifts behind the scenes to keep things as normal as possible so that we will be ready to open as soon as we are able. We also want you to know that we miss all of you and pray daily for our St. Elizabeth families. Thank you. May God continue to Bless us All.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish wishes to extend our
deepest sympathy to the families of Maria “Maru” Sanz and
Francisco “Paco” De Lastrawho passed away recently.
We offer our continued prayers forAll our deceased parishioners.
