This advertisement supersedes the Advertisement No.R.3/1/2008dated 7.7.2008. The SC/ST candidates willing to apply for the above backlogvacancies should send separate applications. The applications sent inresponse to the Advertisement No.R.3/1/2008 dated 7.7.2008 andAdvertisement No.R.3/1/2008 (Revised) dated 10.9.2008 will not beconsidered for backlog vacancies.

2. Qualification:

A. Agricultural and allied subjects: A Master's degree in the relevant subject

with a minimum OGPA of 3.20/4.00 (under 4 point grading system) or 7.00 / 10.00

(under 10 point grading system) or its equivalent grade in the State Agricultural

Universities (SAUs) / ICAR Institutes irrespective of community is essential withgood academic records. The candidate should possess the basic degree in the

concerned Faculty from any State Agricultural University (SAUs) / ICAR Institute.

The candidate should have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET)

conducted by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB), New Delhi /

UGC / Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), which is mandatory.

B. Subjects other than Agriculture disciplines: A Master's Degree in the

relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks or its equivalent grade and good

academic records is required and candidates should have passed the NET

examination conducted by UGC / Council of Scientific and Industrial Research

(CSIR) / SLET.

C. The candidates appeared for Eligibility Test conducted by ASRB/UGC/CSIR/

SLET and awaiting results may also apply for the posts. However, they will be

admitted for interview only on production of result of pass in the NET/SLET".

D. The candidates acquired Ph.D. / PDF qualifications from top well recognized

foreign Universities and not passed 'NET' shall also apply subject to the condition

that in the event of their selection, they have to pass the 'NET' in the two 'NET'

examinations scheduled immediately after their appointment, otherwise their

probation will not be declared and further increments will be withheld.

3. Application:

Application form and instruction to candidates can be downloaded from the

TNAU website (www.tnau.ac.in). The applications should be submitted in triplicate.

The applications should be filled in all respects. The incomplete applications and

applications received without necessary certificates will be rejected. The

completed applications should reach the Registrar, Tamil Nadu Agricultural

University, Coimbatore - 641 003 before 5.00 pm on 25.9.2008.The University

will not be responsible for postal delays. The candidates should specify in the

envelope as "Application for the Post of Assistant Professor (Backlog

vacancy for SC/ST)".

The candidates who are willing to serve in the University for not less than a

minimum period of 3 years can only apply and The selected candidates have to

execute a bond to the effect before joining in the post.

Spiral binding, sending of loose sheets may be strictly avoided.

Reprints have to be sent in a bound volume / thermal binding.

A crossed demand draft for Rs.300/- (for SC/ST candidates) drawn in

favour of "The Comptroller, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore-641

003" payable at Coimbatore should be enclosed along with the application towards

Registration Charges. The demand draft should be dated not earlier than

10.9.2008.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT AND OTHER INSTRUCTIONSTO CANDIDATES

INFORMATION

1. Candidates must be Indian Nationals.

2. Candidates who satisfy the conditions prescribed to the satisfaction of theUniversity authorities should be prepared to appear before the UniversityStaff Selection Committee for an interview at their own cost.

3. Candidates will be called for interview as per the list prepared by theScreening Committee appointed for the purpose and approved by the Vice-Chancellor. The summoning of the candidate for interview conveys noassurance whatsoever that he/she will be recommended or selected or his/her conditions specified in the application will be accepted.

4. It will be open to the University not to fill up any of the post now advertised.

5. Any attempt by the candidate, either directly or indirectly to influence theSelection Committee or other authorities of the University will disqualify thecandidate for the post.

6. All the technical posts of equivalent pay scales are interchangeable, withinthe broad discipline/departments, at the discretion of the University.

7. The service conditions and other terms of appointment in the University

shall be subject to the approval of the Board of Management of the TamilNadu Agricultural University.

8. Candidates who are selected shall be liable for transfer to any other postwithin the jurisdiction of the University.

9. Selection of candidates already in employment will be subject to theemployer's agreement to relieve them.

10.The candidates who are willing to serve in the University for not less than aminimum of three years can only apply and has to execute a bond to that

INSTRUCTIONS

1. The application form (in triplicate) shall be filled in complete in all respects,giving correct information. Defective and incomplete applications and thosewith wrong or false information will be rejected.

2. The candidate should acquire higher qualification to be prescribed in future bythe University / Government of Tamil Nadu / ICAR.

3. Persons who are already working in the University/ State / Central Governmentor any other organization should send their applications through properchannel. Any delay in sending the applications through proper channel is notthe responsibility of the University.

4. Candidates may send copies of testimonials from persons intimatelyacquainted with their work and character. They must also give names andaddresses of three persons in India to whom references can be made relatingto their professional accomplishment. They should submit an attested copy ofthe entry relating to their date of birth, from the Matriculation or SecondarySchool Leaving Certificate, attested copies of their Degree Certificate or / andDiploma testimonials including proof of passing National Eligibility Test (NET)by Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB)/University GrantsCommission (UGC) / Central Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)/StateLevel Eligibility Test (SLET).

5. If a candidate desires to name as a referee, any person residing outside India,

he should write to that person asking him to send direct to the Registrar, TamilNadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore 641 003, a statement of his opinionconcerning the candidate's character and suitability for the post. The reply willbe treated as confidential.

6. Evidence of Degree/Diploma /Community/Date of Birth/ Nativity Certificate andother certificates and testimonials should be brought in original at the time ofinterview.
