Introdution
Social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, cyworld and Bebo have attracted millions of users.
It is a online service. Building and reflecting social
relations. Share interest and activities. Share events and ideas to their
individual networks.
Social networking
The Sphere (luxury network), Nexopia (mostly in Canada); Bebo, Hi5, hyvees(mostly in The Netherlands), friendstar, flickr (mostly in Germany), Iwiw (mostly in Hungary), myspace, Orkut, Google+, Mixi these sites mostly using in
India and Pakistan . A 2011 survey found that 47% of
American adults use a social network.
Some other social networking sites
First social network site is Sixdegrees.com. it is launched in 1997. After that Asian avenue, Black
plannet,Migente. Sixdegrees.com closed in 2000. Ryze.com was launched in 2001 to help
people leverage their business networks. Friendstar,orkut,facebook came into
existence.

Many people waste their valuable time by using social networking sites

Facebook- It is banned in countries like China, Pakistan, Iran, Syria, and UAE.
YouTube- It is banned in many countries primarily including Turkey, Thailand, Pakistan, China, Indonesia.
Twitter is banned in UAE, China. Blogger- The famous blogging platform
is banned in Ethiopia, Pakistan and China.
Wikipedia- This famous open source encyclopedia is also banned. The countries are China, Iran, and Pakistan.
Countries banned social networking sites
China blocks almost of the top websites including Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Wikipedia, Orkut, Technorati, Vimeo and many others.
Why countries wants to ban social networking sites
Mainly because of the ‘privacy issues’ and ‘objectionable content’ most social websites are banned in China and middle-east Asian countries.
