June: Tour of the restored Chuckey Train Depot in Jonesborough

Chad Fred Bailey, President of the Jonesborough Genealogical Society, arranged a guided tour

for our Members of the now restored, historic Chuckey Train Depot. Standing, back left is the

wonderful Tour Guide.

After the tour, our group happened to be standing on the outside platform of the old Depot when

a train horn was faintly heard in the distance. A member of The Society gave the time-honored

hand signal for the train to blow its horn. The train engineer happily accommodated, and we all

stood on the platform waiving. Just like in olden times.

Many, many thanks go out to Chad Fred Bailey for arranging this wonderful adventure for

our members! A grand time was had by all!

November: The Genealogical Society again participated in the annual Citizens Academy,

organized for the Town of Greeneville.
