At Pearson, we know that generations of tomorrow’s leaders are counting on you, and we will not let you or your students down. We are always learning, trying new ideas, and researching new ways to make education more relevant, more engaging, and more meaningful for today’s learners.

With more than 40 years in the educational technology industry and over six million students inspired by our programs, we dedicate our experience, our people, and our passion to creating dynamic educational software programs like SuccessMaker that prepare learners today for the world they will build tomorrow.

My future looks different than yours did at my age. i will likely have at least five different careers in my lifetime, some of which don’t even exist yet. i will use tools that haven’t been invented yet to help solve problems that aren’t even on the horizon today. i will use technology in new ways to share my knowledge, collaborate with others, and shape the world around me. And I rely on you to prepare me.

Ask any group of students how they like to learn and you won’t hear “we” in the response. you’ll hear things like “i like games,” or “i don’t like to read.” Ask a group of educators what their biggest challenges are, and you’ll get a variety of responses. how do we know? We’ve been asking learners and educators for nearly 40 years what’s important to each of them and we built our program around it.

successmaker is educational software that differentiates and personalizes k-8 reading and math instruction better than any other program on the market. every aspect of successmaker is singularly focused on the individual needs and desires of real students and educators allowing you to effectively address individual learning needs while supporting the instructional goals of your school or district.

    CurriCulum ConneCTions To Common Core

reading and math skills are interrelated—students who struggle with reading will likely encounter the same struggles working through a word problem in math. That’s why SuccessMaker offers comprehensive math and reading curricula in the same program. These curricula also offer strong support for the Common Core State standards as well as newer, more stringent individual state standards so no matter where you are, SuccessMaker can help you achieve your instructional goals.

Both the reading and math curricula are fully correlated to the Common Core state standards so you know that instruction within the program supports your Common Core goals. And to give you peace of mind, correlation documents are available to give you a detailed view of the individual learning objectives within the program and which Common Core state standards they support.

The movement toward Common Core has resulted in a dramatic shift in english/language arts and mathematics instruction to support the ultimate goal of producing high school graduates ready for college, career and the world that lies ahead.

successmaker provides english/language arts and mathematics curriculum correlated to these instructional shifts to help you ensure that your elementary, middle and high school students are on the path to college andcareer readiness.

successmaker challenges students to apply what they know to real-life scenarios to prepare them for successful application of math concepts in thereal world.

successmaker approaches skill practice and conceptual understanding with dual intensity, offering sequential and prerequisite practice for application; intelligent feedback, direct instruction and guiding tutorials to build understanding; and delayed practice to ensure retention.

successmaker can help you increase students’ exposure to nonfiction texts with a range of digital reading selections of which 70% are nonfiction titles.

for younger students using SuccessMaker, it’s often love at first sight. But it’s tough for any program to break through older students’ “too cool for school” demeanor to really draw them in. successmaker amps up the appeal for students in grades 6 through 12 with newly designed remedial instruction so your older students experience lessons with a look and feel specifically designed for them, even when they’re working below grade level.

motivation can be a very powerful instructional tool and a large body of research exists that suggests a number of instructional design principles for motivating learners. one design principle common to multiple motivational models is the element of autonomy or control. This principle is also a tenant of the cognitive load theory. Together, this research recommends providing learners with a sense of control over the learning activity and allowing them to make decisions.

successmaker’s rewards interface provides one way to put learners in the driver’s seat giving them a sense of control over their environment which, in turn, increases their investment in the experience and increases motivation to keep moving forward.

    mATh reWArds

students in all grades will be able to select a new theme for the student interface in the math course at regular reward intervals. As with the reading rewards, they’ll have one minute at the start of the session to select a theme or the system will choose one at random.

We’ll work with you to design an implementation plan that delivers measurable achievement gains within the limitations of your schedule. And because instruction, practice, reading passages, and assessment are all integrated into the program experience, you don’t have to worry about juggling multiple program components.
