SPONSOR OF THE WEEK— Dean Honda

Today’s Readings for The Thirty-Third Sunday of Ordinary Time Begin (in the Seasonal Missalette)

The good news of today’s Gospel is the extravagance of what is being given to us. All we need to do is be faithful in “small matters.” The cost of fidelity has no comparison to the

reward given. If you or a family you know need assistance, please call the Society of St. Vin-cent de Paul, 412-461-6906, Ext. 5, so that together we can help the suffering and poor.

NEXT WEEK’S SECOND COLLECTION IS FOR THE RETIREMENT FOR RELIGIOUS

Please pray for the happy repose of the soul of JASON BOEHM, our parishioner, the fiancé of April Horan and the son of Richard and Anna Marie Miller, who was buried from our church this past week. May he rest in the peace of the Lord. Please keep his fami-ly in your prayers.

In Loving Memory…

GIVING TREE

Our Annual Giving Tree will be put up the weekend of November 22nd & 23rd! We will have a tree located at the two main entrances of the Church, the Baldwin Road front entrance and the ramp entrance near the Sacristy. As usual, the annual tradition will benefit local organizations, as well as parish families in need. All gifts must be returned to the Church by Monday, December 8th.

The following children were baptized at our Altar last weekend. We congratulate them and welcome them with our prayers!

ADRIANA NICOLE PETRO, the daughter of Andrew and Kelly Sambroak Petro DAMIEN RATAY, the son of Brian Ratay and Frances Butina

ADORATION

Sunday, November 23rd is the Feast of Christ the King. We will have an opportunity to acknowledge the special place of Christ in our lives with an afternoon of Eucharistic

Adoration following the 12:00 Noon Mass until the 5:00 p.m. Benediction. The Rosary and Divine Mercy devotion will be offered at 3:00 p.m.

Has it been awhile since your last confession? “The light is still on for you!” is an invitation of the Diocese of Pittsburgh to encourage Catholics to avail themselves of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Confession is the best way to prepare our hearts for the coming of our Lord at Christ-mas. Confession will be available on Wednesday, December 10th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in every Catholic parish in the Diocese. If it’s been awhile since your last confes-sion or you have trouble making our regularly scheduled confession times, this is a great opportunity to reconnect with Christ and His Church . Visit: www.diopitt.org/lightstillon for more information.

How to make a good confession: Confession is not difficult, but it does require preparation. We should begin with prayer, placing ourselves in the presence of God, our loving Father. We seek healing and forgiveness through repentance and a resolve to sin no more. Then we review our lives since our last confession, searching our thoughts, words and actions for that which did not conform to God’s command to love Him and one another through His laws and the laws of His Church. This is called an examination of conscience.

To make an examination of conscience:

• Begin with a prayer asking for God’s help.

• Review your life with the help of some questions, which are based on the 10 Commandments (see below).

• Tell God how truly sorry you are for your sins.

• Make a firm resolution not to sin again.

Recall your sins. Prayerfully ask yourself what you have done with full knowledge and full consent against God’s and the Church’s commandments. This information and more can be found at: diopitt.org/short-guide-confession-sacrament-reconciliation-0

GRIEF: SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS The holiday season is fast approaching, and you are likely experiencing a jumble of emotions that you’ve yet to sort out. Facing a holiday after the death of a loved one can be more difficult than your friends and even family members may realize. The GriefShare video “Surviving the Holidays”, and discussion group will not only help you to get through the holidays, but to find strength, healing, and tools to move forward in your daily walk through the deep pain of grief. Some topics to be covered:

∗ Being prepared for surprising emotions that may hit over the holidays.

∗ What to do about traditions and other coming changes.

∗ How to survive potentially awkward moments with other people.

∗ Where to find comfort, strength, and hope in a seemingly hopeless time.
