AIRWATCH REVIEW BY A REAL USERPeuge Benjamin, MIS, CCENT Verified by IT CentralStationEngineer at a tech vendor with 5000+ employees

Valuable Features:

The Organization group approach they have taken to manage both Device andAdministrative access

Improvements to My Organization:

It has help in providing administrators with a way to separate devices based onbusiness use cases.

Room for Improvement:

There are currently canned reports that provide a a great deal of device detail. But,there could be room for the solutions to allow for custom reporting for ad-hocreports

Use of Solution:

3 years

Customer Service:

This is an area that could use some improvement. we have had a few incidentswhere the level of support was not what it was pictured to be.

Technical Support:

There are a lot of very skilled engineers well versed in all aspects of the solution.

Previous Solutions:

We have used multiple solutions.  We are responsible for service delivery so we areexpected to be familiar with the main players in the industry.

Initial Setup:

It depends. On-prem is a lot more involved than SaaS. There are a lot of movingparts for the on-prem version of the solution that can be consolidates if it is thedesire of the client/customer.

Stability Issues:

No issues encountered.

Scalability Issues:

No issues encountered.

Customer Service:

Very good.

Technical Support:

Very Good.

Previous Solutions:

No.

Implementation Team:

Through a vendor team. Very Good

ROI:

The ROI is US$4 for each US$1 invested.

Setup Cost:

The original setup cost was US$3K on training, licenses and hosting.

The day to day cost its around US$2.5 per device monthly.

Alternate Solutions:

We evaluated, 3 years ago, Afaria, Airwatch and Soti. Soti had an excellent relationbetween price and quality.

Other Advice:

Understand the devices that can support Android or Android Plus. There aredevices that are present in our market but not in the North American, so the supportfor some Android devices sometimes are poor.

After that, the relation price - quality should be your next decision maker, includingthe support that the manufacturer can provide you.

MOBICONTROL REVIEW BY A REAL USERKrzysztof Puzio Verified by IT Central StationIT DSS Junior Coordinator at a manufacturing companywith 5000+ employees

Valuable Features:

File Sync Rules

Registry editor for Windows

Scripting

Remote control

Improvements to My Organization:

Actually, that is the main support tool used in BAT by L1 to support are mobileusers.

I cannot say anything about improvement cause we started to use that when wechange the sales model for direct and implement mobile systems for Sales Reps. For sure it gives a very big value for our support quality.

An example lockdown menu for Motorola WM 6.5 devices:

Room for Improvement:

There are a lot of things which can be done for Android devices support. There areno features now to deploy settings for already installed applications in Android's.Mobi should have also access to all of "root" user files on device which will alsohelp which application settings deployment. For sure there should be also somefeatures to check on all devices size of chosen file or maybe CRC sum.

Use of Solution:

I started to use MobiControl in May 2013.

Deployment Issues:

Sometimes I reached problems with big file deployments. From time to time when Ineed to synchronize files bigger than ~100Mb and synchronization crashes in themiddle it will not continue at next schedule and files will not reach device correctly.Second thing is packages deployment with included installation which is runningpretty slow. Instead of that I use file sync rules and scripting which is much better.

Page 17: A PEEK INTO WHAT REAL USERS THINKcdn.ttgtmedia.com/downloads/Mobile_Device_Management_Report_f… · 16/04/2015  · Top Mobile Device Management Vendors Over 73,640 professionals

Stability Issues:

Haven't encountered stability issues.

Scalability Issues:

Not to big but when I wanted to deploy some files on couple devices which whereconnected to a small router they where started to disconnecting for Mobi. Therewas no clear requirements in the documentation about how big link capacity shouldbe per one device.

Customer Service:

I haven't contacted them.

Technical Support:

Technical support in SOTI is not to advanced. They are not stubborn in problemsolving. If they know something from their knowledge base they will send someexplanations but if not you are staying alone with your problem.

Previous Solutions:

Did not use any other MDM.

Initial Setup:

It was pretty simple.

Implementation Team:

I implemented that by my self. I did not use help of anyone.

ROI:

That was not an investment at all. Just a tool to manage some mobile devices so itwill be hard to calculate "return".

Alternate Solutions:

It is a global solution for BAT so I did not evaluate any others.

Other Advice:

Collect your requirements before you will buy it. It is pretty expensive for MDM andyou need to be sure that you will not be disappointed after attemptingimplementation.

WHAT REAL USERSARE SAYING...

"Gave the company theoption to implement BYODfor mobile phones, but TheMTC was very finicky."

"Provides us with fastercommunication, butSecuring ActiveSyncwithout using a Netscalerwould be an improvement."

"Centralized managementfor iOS and Androidplatform devices. It canpush the policy andapplication based onneeds. "

"Provides us the control weneed for BYOD. Can't waituntil Android support!"

XENMOBILE REVIEW BY A REAL USERSrEngineer672 Verified by IT Central StationConsultant at a tech services company with 1-500employees

Valuable Features:

Ease of deployment to end users.

Profile deployment to setup email, wifi etc.

Secure Mail Gateway was very useful for companies trying to control who accessedtheir email.

Improvements to My Organization:

Gave the company the option to implement BYOD for mobile phones. Also helpedwith companies who were providing phones the capabilities to easily deploy aphone as well as to securely delete the data if the phone went missing or policieswere being broken.

Room for Improvement:

The Multi-Tenant component (MTC) was very finicky to get up and running andupgrades was hit and miss. If you were dealing with a single site it was fairlystraight forward as long as you rebooted the system before doing any significantchanges like upgrades or certificate changes.

With Citrix taking over, the XenMobile name is a bundling of other products(ShareFile/XenMobile Apps, NetScaller, etc) which makes this a very difficult setupin a single environment and impossible to deploy a full "XenMobile" experience as aManage Services offering.

Use of Solution:

2.5 years. Basically from 2012 to mid 2014.

Deployment Issues:

As a MTC it was a problem to get up and running initially. It also had a lot ofproblems with certificates but again it came to being very selective on the trustedroot authority.

Single deployment has generally been fine.

Page 20: A PEEK INTO WHAT REAL USERS THINKcdn.ttgtmedia.com/downloads/Mobile_Device_Management_Report_f… · 16/04/2015  · Top Mobile Device Management Vendors Over 73,640 professionals

Stability Issues:

The MTC It had undocumented memory requirements so even though we hadenough memory for the number of devices, the number of tenants meant we hadregular crashes until that was fully realised by their support.

Scalability Issues:

No.

Technical Support:

Technical support was good.

Previous Solutions:

Didn't use any other product.

Initial Setup:

MTC is complicated as it required a top level service to manage the tenants andthat was difficult to get running.

Single tenant (in-house) was easy.

Implementation Team:

In-house with technical support.

ROI:

As I said we sold this product as a manage service offering. I'm not sure on thecompanies return on investment.

Setup Cost:

Unknown setup cost but we spent a lot of hours getting it running.

Alternate Solutions:

Back in 2012 we compared this to Sophos offering (hands on). On paper wecompared this product to Mobile Iron.

Other Advice:

I still think XenMobile MDM is a leading solution for Mobile Device Management butits bundling with the other XenMobile Apps and NetScaller makes it very difficult toimplement. You (as a solution provider) need to be a Citrix house to get to the rightresources. If you are looking to implement MDM just understand the full solutionfrom Citrix is expensive and complicated. However the basic MDM with SecureMail Gateway is not nearly as difficult and still provides features that other MDMproviders don't.

XENMOBILE REVIEW BY A REAL USERSpencer Warren Verified by IT Central StationApplications Systems Analyst at a tech services companywith 500-5000 employees

Valuable Features:

Receiving corporate email, contacts, and calendar. The ability to lock down andsecure the device, and the ability to support iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.

Improvements to My Organization:

This product provides our organization with faster communication with the ability toanswer emails from a mobile device rather than having to access Outlook on alaptop or desktop.

Room for Improvement:

Securing ActiveSync without using a Netscaler.

Use of Solution:

2 years and 6 months.

Deployment Issues:

There have not been any issues with deploying this solution. However we haveencountered when a user restores an iOS device either for a new iPhone orexisting, the XenMobile profiles have to be deleted and the phone has to be setupagain using Worx Home.

Stability Issues:

We have not encountered any issues with stability. But we have seen battery life isslightly drained faster.

Scalability Issues:

We have not encountered any issues with scalability.

Customer Service:

10/10.

Technical Support:

10/10.

Previous Solutions:

No.

Initial Setup:

The initial setup has always been very straightforward and easy to install updates.

Implementation Team:

We did the implementation in-house.

ROI:

For BYOD we charged users $50.00 to counter the price of the product and licensecost. Also faster communication has added to ROI.

Setup Cost:

The original setup cost was $1,800.00 plus a new license every year. Day-to-daycosts include offsite server and storage.

Alternate Solutions:

Yes, we did evaluate other options based off of Gartner reports and off ofmanagements previous used products.

Other Advice:

Test, test, test and understand how iOS and Android work at an operating systemlevel. Also create good documentation with screenshots to help the users enrollthemselves, empower the users.

GOOD FOR ENTERPRISE REVIEW BY A REAL USERmartin.sandren Verified by IT Central StationManager of System Security at a financial services firmwith 500-5000 employees

Valuable Features:

The container approach gets you separation between private and corporate data. This does mean that you eliminate the risk of wiping private data during a remotewipe as well as remove the risk of data leakage between when the device is lostand when it is wiped.

Room for Improvement:

Clumsy user interface

Expensive

No cloud delivery platform

Iffy support for O365

Valuable Features:

Provides access to our Lotus Notes system in a controlled and managed manner. Is device agnostic with a similar interface for the gamet of devices in the market.

Room for Improvement:

The application is consistent across devices, but the interface is not as robust asyou would expect for an enterprise solution. The application should have more userfunctionality and interface better with the independent operating systems it runs on.

WHAT REAL USERSARE SAYING...

"Fiberlink's Maas360 usedto be one of the top MDMsolutions, but now thereare better rated options."

"Capability to remotelyassist in device &passcode unlocks makessupport easier. Certificateinstall could be smoother."

MAAS360 REVIEW BY A REAL USERnetadmin201 Verified by IT Central StationNetwork Administrator at a healthcare company with 500-5000 employees

Valuable Features:

Ability to lock or wipe the device if it becomes lost or stolen. Control what users canand cannot do on their corporate phone through policies, and the ability to inventorythe wireless devices in the field.

Improvements to My Organization:

Before Maas360 we had no way of knowing of how many devices were in the fielddue to IT not being a part of the purchasing process. We are now able to inventorydevices and require end users to contact us in order to get their phones setup. Also,we do not allow BYOD at our company because of HIPAA policies, since Maas360links with our Exchange server we get a notification if personal devices show up onour network and can take appropriate actions.

Room for Improvement:

Android device enrollment is a difficult process compared to how easy Apple IOSenrollment is. Also, there is a glaring security flaw were users can wipe their phonesand they still show compliant in Maas360.

Another issue is when new Android phones come out, Maas360 is not able toimplement the new features that have been introduced on the phone. For examplewhen fingerprint login was available for Galaxy S5, Maas360 was not even ready tooffer that feature as part of the policy you implement for your phone. Apple on theother hand usually has their features ready for Maas360 within the first few weeksof release.

Use of Solution:

Almost 3 years.

Deployment Issues:

Besides your standard end user issues....then no.

Stability Issues:

There have been complaints of the Maas360 app that is required on the devices todrain the phone battery faster than normal. Also, I have had an issue with theMaas360 app failing and causing my phone to become unusable.

Scalability Issues:

No scalability issues.

Customer Service:

Good.

Technical Support:

I've noticed a little bit of a decline of responsiveness since IBM has taken themover.

Previous Solutions:

No.

Implementation Team:

In-house.

Alternate Solutions:

I believe we were looking at Good Technologies as well.

MAAS360 REVIEW BY A REAL USERAccountAdmin19221 Verified by IT Central StationHelp Desk Support Account Admin. at a financial servicesfirm with 500-5000 employees

Valuable Features:

The ability to see details about a users device, whether they are inactive becausethey don't use it, whether its in compliance, rooted/jailbroken, what version of iOSor policy they are currently on, and more. Also the capability to remotely assist indevice unlocks and passcode unlocks makes support easier.

Improvements to My Organization:

It allows employees who require phones a way to receive support quickly ratherthan having to go through the Help Desk or other areas to receive assistance. If thedevice is stolen, it can be remotely wiped from the site, same goes for unlocks, changing policies, and re-enrollment of the device if it is accidentally wiped.

Room for Improvement:

Possibly a notification if a device is wiped and no longer has the security policy onthe phone. The product can also install the certificates on the phone in a 'smoother'way. It currently sometimes fails and we have to re-enroll the device multiple times.

Use of Solution:

About 6 months.

Deployment Issues:

Occasionally when it is installing the certificates and policies, it may not always gothrough and we have to re-enroll the device to try again.

Stability Issues:

MaaS has been pretty reliable and we have had minimal issues. Only issue I mayhave is that it can sometimes take upwards of 5-10 minutes for a passcode unlockto go through onto the device (sometimes, not always).

Scalability Issues:

None.

Previous Solutions:

No previous solution.

Implementation Team:

Manager worked in-house, communicating with tech support on their end and wasable to get it implemented and also tested very quickly.

ROI:

Can't comment much here, but I'm sure with the faster support, managers, directors, and executives receive now, it has increased productivity.

Alternate Solutions:

This product was chosen by management, I wasn't aware of other options.

Other Advice:

Give it a try and test it in your environment. We've had practically no issues withMaaS360 that haven't started from our end first. It is very easy to create newsecurity policies and many ways to restrict devices.

Previous Solutions:

Yes. Agreement issue with preferred product was the reason for change.

Initial Setup:

Not quite. Technical questionnaire/reference can be done better so firewall rulescan be implemented more smoothly. The server setup that BYOD Portal resides onis not supported by MobileIron and caused support issues such as vulnerabilitypatches, configuration, etc.

Implementation Team:

Both via Webex sessions. The level of expertise from the vendor team is 8 out of10.

Initial Setup:

It was straightforward. The infrastructure consists of virtual appliances which arevery easy to deploy and setup.

Implementation Team:

An in-house team.

Alternate Solutions:

Symantec, Zenprise (now Citrix).

Other Advice:

Focus onto the planning phase of the implementation. Prepare a list of yourrequirements regarding the restrictions (passcode, secure data access), usecases, what type of resources would your users like to acces from their mobiledevice. Per device and per user licensing are available, so you can decide which isthe best for you.

There are two type of implementation available: Connected Cloud and On-premise.In the first scenario MobileIron is responsible for the availability, the backup and theversion upgrades of the Core. Make groups by the type of users and use activedirectory groups for assigning configs and policies. Prepare a list of the platformsyou would like to support. Ask for a 30-day evaluation from MobileIron and checkthat it meets with your expectation and requirements. Mobileiron provide 0 daysupport for new versions of IOS, Android and Windows Phone. It is possible tocreate dynamic groups of configs and policies as per the user AD groupmembership and by device properties (platform, OS version, screen size,… morethan 240 filter properties can be used)
