Reactor Services& Catalyst Handling

Our services include catalyst handling in all type reactors including mechanical work under

inert (N2) or normal atmosphere in a ‘blinds to blinds' approach.

The range of equipment includes specially manufactured machinery for services requiring

continuous discharge of catalyst / support media, vacuuming, screening and cooling /

recycling of nitrogen.

Our equipment is designed to minimize catalyst attrition and exposure to unwanted dust

particles typically expelled during loading / unloading operations. To complement these

services we also offer closed circuit video inspection, removal, cleaning and passivation of

vessel internals, blinding, bolt tensioning and welding.

We offer pre-engineering services including

planning, scheduling, coordination and above

all, the right solutions for your problems. These

services are further complemented with specialty

loading processes, notably for assuring better

density and / or uniformity of beds.

All these skills are acquired through stringent

Quality

To ensure an even distribution of the catalyst a Pressure drop (Pd) measurement is carried out.

If some tubes are outside of the pre-agreed range then corrections will be done accordingly.

The data will be electronically stored and at the end of the change-out this information is given

to the customer.

Control measures are implemented at different stages for an optimal catalyst change-out, for

Services complement this reputation by offering a vast amount of Chemical Cleaning process

engineered and performed by key personnel having expert experience.

Our Chemical Cleaning processes are performed by the application of chemicals, using

specialized pumping and blending equipment to remove scales, deposits, or unwanted

materials from various types of process equipment, piping, or any wetted/heated surface.

During each chemical cleaning operation, engineers are constantly monitoring the chemical

solution with specialized analytical equipment allowing onsite analysis of the solution during

circulation. Once the unwanted deposits/scales

have been removed the results are easily

recognized by the increased plant efficiencies

of the equipment, yielding savings in reduced

operating costs.

Chemical Cleaning division also offers

specialized oil flushing services for circulating

all types of critical seal oil, hot oil, lube oil and

CR Asia provides internal tube cleaning by

high pressure water jetting using automated

equipment (i.e. TLE) or chemical cleaning.

TLE cleaning with flexible lances and rotating

nozzles are used to accommodate narrow

platforms (i.e. no need for scaffolding). H2S

(FeS) can be removed by chemical cleaning.

Both methods are aimed at obtaining the

maximum result in the shortest possible time

at the highest safety level.

However, from our experience approximately

85% of the heat transfer problems are due to

fouling of the outer surface of the tubes where

debris accumulates on and in between the fins.

Mechanised hydro-jetting

For the cleaning of A-Frame and forced draft

ACHE CR Asia uses multiple nozzle jetting

heads which move along a rail by chain and

air-motor. The nozzles producing the water

jets are configured at the correct angle and

pitch to achieve full penetration of the bundle.

Positioning and movement of the traveller is

designed to guarantee zero damage to the

fins (i.e. bending over). For this application

we only use water and no chemicals.

Dry cleaning

As an alternative method CR Asia uses

sodium bicarbonate blasting for the cleaning

of induced and forced draft ACHE. For of induced and forced draft ACHE. For

induced draft ACHE’s this can be carried

out fully online. For forced draft ACHE’s it is

required for the fan to be stopped. However,

the product can continue to flow during

cleaning irrespective of its temperature. The

blasting medium (NaHCO3) is non-hazardous

and water soluble (pH 8.4 - approx). The

consumption of blasting medium is very low.

The blasting medium is applied with the use

of a hand-held lance.

Pipeline Cleaning - no matter what your requirements are, Chemical Cleaning or Mechanical

Cleaning methods can be applied to remove all types of debris and deposits.

Pipeline Flooding - we use precision equipment to pump, monitor and maintain filling pig

travel speeds and hydro test chemical injections to ensure minimum trapped air and even

placement of hydro test chemical evenly throughout the fi l l ing process.

Pressure Testing - available to perform different methods, utilizing different techniques,

complying with all regulatory industrial standards.

Dewatering - after successfully completing hydrostatic testing, pigs are used to ensure a

controlled drain has been performed especially on lines where evaluations are an issue.

Drying - is generally applied or performed when it is critical due to the type of product

different methods of drying, depending on the requirements, either chemical, nitrogen,

and removal of heavy deposits. Our extensive fleet of High Pressure Pumps up to 2500 bar

with large volume water being delivered to the HP cleaning tools. This enables us to remove

The CDT service is specifically designed to remove coke and scale from furnace tubes. A common problem encountered in furnaces is the

How does the CDT system work?The body of the pigg is generally a flexible

polymer. These vary from ¾” to 12” in

diameter – although typically the normal

furnace tubes which we clean tend to be 4” to

6” or perhaps 8”. The piggs have intermediate

sizes with varying lengths and can traverse

180 degrees negotiating short radius elbows

and U-bends.

The CDT service uses water at quite a low

pressure to drive the pigg along the tube

allowing the metal studs to scrape the coke and

scale loose.

Some of the water flows around the pigg

and through the cleaning studs to flush the

loosened deposits ahead of the pigg and into

a collection tank.

This process is repeated several times and the

size of the pigg is increased incrementally so that

more of the deposit is removed with each pass.

CR Asia CDT system does not tie the company

to proprietary pigging systems. Our system is

to provide our customers with a tailor-made

solution selecting the pigg specifically to suit the

requirements of the customer and their facilities.

As the operator is in total control of the process

– together with a wide experience gained over

many years and in many different furnaces

and heaters – the choice of piggs and number

of optimum runs required will guarantee the

complete removal of the coke or scale from the

tube. By using various size piggs with different

configurations of studs we also clean tubes with

reducers and changing diameters.

Ultimately, the CDT system is a safer, quicker

and more environmentally friendly cleaning

technology leaving the customer assured of a

total cleaning service of the fired heater tubes.

Our Mechanical services have been uniquely developed and catered for medium to large

scale projects ranging from 5,000 to 500,000 man hours.

Being one of the first to have provided a ‘blinds to blinds' concept we offer a range of general

mechanical services that include fabrication, on-site modification, stainless steel welding

(inert and normal atmosphere), vessel blinding, column cleaning, replacement of trays/internals,

Waste Handling

Our Waste Handling and Vacuum Services Division offers a broad range of services

including industrial waste collection and transportation to municipality landfills and other

approved waste disposal facilities. Our fleet of Super Sucker Vacuum Trucks are capable of

vacuuming both dry and liquid generated wastes. This is supplemented by Waste Bin / Hooklift

(8 cyd 17 cyd) services for collection of various dry wastes within industrial plants.

Our commitment to protecting the environment ensures that we are able to respond and

assist with emergency spills and unplanned clean ups, such as waste oils, wet and dry

industrial products.
