Things are back in full swing here at FBC. While the holiday break is nice, I am always excited when we get back into a regular ministry rhythm. A new slate of small groups starts back this Sunday, January 24, at 6pm. You should find a listing of them in this week's newsletter. I hope that you will consider joining up with one of these classes over the next few weeks. One of the great things about our Sunday night small groups is that specific topics or subjects of study are offered. An other thing that is just as great is the opportunity to meet people you might not otherwise get the chance to meet. Besides great study, these classes offer a great cross- pollination of backgrounds, spiritual maturity, and ideas within our church. I hope that you are making plans to be a part of what is happening on Sunday nights at FBC. Just before Christmas, you elected our College Pastor Search Team. The team consists of Don Poe (chair), Judy Bratcher, David Phinney, Teri Thompson, John Winder, Natalie Pratt, Ben Horne, and Meagan Poland (ex officio). As they begin meeting, I hope that you will be in prayer for them as they seek the one who will serve on our church staff as College Pastor. You elected a great team, and I look forward to working with them. As you see these folks in church or around the community, I hope that you will encourage them along in the hard work they are undertaking. You will be hearing from them periodically regarding their progress in the process. Also, they will be asking you for your feedback along the way as well. I know that God has great things in store for our college ministry. We have a great group of folks who are standing in the gap during this interim time, of whom I am thankful to the Lord. Thank you for your prayer and support. Do you ever think about the future? Do you ever wonder what things will be like at FBC in five years or fifteen years? I do. I am thankful that our church has a vision of the future. Our church was built on visionary leadership. We have long thought about what could be. I wonder if you would join me in thinking about what could be? Would you join me in seeking the Lord about what could be at FBC? What will our ministry look like as we move forward? What will our church campus and buildings look like as we move ahead? How will we meet the ever-growing needs of a growing church and a growing community? How can we invest ourselves now in such a way that leaves a lasting legacy for FBC? These are great questions that are worth our reflection and worthy of our prayer. As we look ahead and dream of what could be, I am thankful that we serve a God who knows what will be. For God's Glory,

Things are back in full swing here at FBC. While the holiday break is nice,

I am always excited when we get back into a regular ministry rhythm. A

new slate of small groups starts back this Sunday, January 24, at 6pm.

You should find a listing of them in this week's newsletter. I hope that you

will consider joining up with one of these classes over the next few weeks.

One of the great things about our Sunday night small groups is that

specific topics or subjects of study are offered. An other thing that is just

as great is the opportunity to meet people you might not otherwise get the

chance to meet. Besides great study, these classes offer a great cross-

pollination of backgrounds, spiritual maturity, and ideas within our church. I hope that you are

making plans to be a part of what is happening on Sunday nights at FBC.

Just before Christmas, you elected our College Pastor Search Team. The team consists of Don Poe

(chair), Judy Bratcher, David Phinney, Teri Thompson, John Winder, Natalie Pratt, Ben Horne, and

Meagan Poland (ex officio). As they begin meeting, I hope that you will be in prayer for them as they

seek the one who will serve on our church staff as College Pastor. You elected a great team, and I

look forward to working with them. As you see these folks in church or around the community, I hope

that you will encourage them along in the hard work they are undertaking. You will be hearing from

them periodically regarding their progress in the process. Also, they will be asking you for your

feedback along the way as well. I know that God has great things in store for our college ministry.

We have a great group of folks who are standing in the gap during this interim time, of whom I am

thankful to the Lord. Thank you for your prayer and support.

Do you ever think about the future? Do you ever wonder what things will be like at FBC in five years

or fifteen years? I do. I am thankful that our church has a vision of the future. Our church was built

on visionary leadership. We have long thought about what could be. I wonder if you would join me in

thinking about what could be? Would you join me in seeking the Lord about what could be at FBC?

What will our ministry look like as we move forward? What will our church campus and buildings

look like as we move ahead? How will we meet the ever-growing needs of a growing church and a

growing community? How can we invest ourselves now in such a way that leaves a lasting legacy

for FBC? These are great questions that are worth our reflection and worthy of our prayer. As we

look ahead and dream of what could be, I am thankful that we serve a God who knows what will be.

For God's Glory,

Sarah Duewall, Business Administrator [email protected]

Thank you, again, to everyone who gave to the church in 2015. You should be receiving your annual contribution statement in the next week. If you do not receive yours by Jan. 28th,

please send me an e-mail or call me at 979-696-7000.

I want to say “THANK YOU!” to our Building Supervisor, Tim Martin, and his staff for all of their efforts in keeping our building clean and ready to go for all of the different events that happen here. If you have any questions or problems with anything regarding the church building or property, feel free to send me an e-mail and Tim and I will do our best to resolve

the issue.

Food Pantry Needs Your Bags!

Looking for a way to recycle your plastic bags? The Food Pantry can use them for the produce that is distributed each week. Please put

them in the Food Pantry collection baskets. Thank you!

Thank you so much FBC-CS family for welcoming us to College Station. The reception this past Sunday night was wonderful and your generosity shown to us was so meaningful. (Clyde and Robin: muchas gracias por la tarjeta sincera!) We are inching our way closer to being settled in our new home and look forward to ministry here in College Station with you in

the coming years.

One of my priorities this Spring is getting around to each Sunday morning class to meet our leadership, but also get to know each of you better. This will help me assess how and where we might add additional teaching units in the future. I will be doing the same with the Sunday night classes. Also, if you teach using the BaptistWay curriculum, the Wednesday night

group IS meeting in room 1020A at 5:45pm.
