Issue LXV
Hello to all my Lincoln Neighbors.
Its finally time for Summer to show up. Along with all it’s beauty, it
brings a ton of activity for the Lincoln Neighborhood Association.
Our upcoming events for July and September are quickly approach-
ing. In July, we have our Annual Neighborhood Garage Sale. What
a great time to now go through the closets, the garage and find all
those items you no longer use but know your neighbors would love
to have. Neighbors you haven’t seen since last summer and new
ones you’ve yet to meet. This is always a great event and brings
tons of shoppers to our neighborhood. Start going through the clos-
ets and garage now to be ready for Friday, July 13 and Saturday,
July 14. See the enclosed flyer for all the information.
One of our most popular events is the Neighborhood Cleanup. Sat-
urday, September 8 from 9:00 to 3:00. In the past, this has been a
Spring event, but due to conflicts in schedule, this year we will
have it in Sept. So what didn’t get sold in the Garage Sale can be
disposed of this Saturday. Great time to get the yard ready for the
coming Winter season too.
The totals for last year were staggering! We collected 31.75 tons of
bulk debris. Last year it was only 16.44. We also took in 31.75 tons
of yard recyclables as opposed to 7.35 tons the year previous. Wow!
You were understanding and generous with your donations while
unloading your vehicles which helps fund all our amazing neighbor-
hood events like the Easter Egg Hunt, pizza nights, candidate fo-
rums, grants to schools to help fund special projects, Halloween,
Thanksgiving and Christmas parties. Incidentally, if you would like
to participate in any of these events and be an active member of
your Neighborhood, just give me a call or e-mail any of us at the
addresses listed on the back page. We could
sure use your help. We are dedicated to mak-
ing life better and safer in our Lincoln neigh-
borhood.
Hope to see you soon,
Jenny Brown

Lincoln Neighborhood
Garage Sale Friday-Saturday, July 13-14
It’s baaaack! For the 49th time. Time to start thinking about
the neighborhood garage sale!
Here’s a quick review of the details:
You can participate one or both days.
Official hours are from 9am-4pm each day, but you’re free to
set your own hours.
There’s no cost to participate. The Lincoln Neighborhood Association gener-
ously covers the cost of newspaper advertising and a porta-potty is provided
free by the City of Vancouver.
We’ll provide publicity for the neighborhood sale with advertising on craigslist
and the Columbian. We recommend posting your own ads online as well.
About 20 street signs will be posted to direct people toward garage sale areas.
It’s great if you have a few of your own to point shoppers without maps to
your house.
A map of participating houses will be posted with online ads. Hard copies will
be available at Latte da Coffeehouse.
If you’d like to be listed on the map, contact Michelle Fennimore at
[email protected] or 360-975-1910(cell) by Monday, July 9th.
You don’t have to be on the map to participate, but the more garage sales we
have on the map, the more customers we’ll bring to the neighborhood. So sup-
port your neighbors and get on the map!

An estimated 200 kids and their adults enjoyed a beautiful Saturday morning, trooping
around the cake walk, getting a treat from Granma Bunny and then off to
find as many eggs as they could before they were all gone.
Thanks to all those that helped and to Main St. Dentistry, Jeff Stay of
American Underwriters and Latte da.

Saturday, Sept. 8th Lincoln School 9 to 3
Mark your calendar, the cleanup this year is in September. What you can’t recycle or is too much for your weekly pickup service can be brought to Lincoln School Saturday the 8th of September from 9 to 3. This is also an opportune time to get the yard ready for the end of the season. There are some things that the trucks can’t accept, primarily electronics, appliances like micro waves, motor oil, anti freeze, paint and prescription drugs. See pages 5 and 6 for a listing of those items that can and cannot be recycled and where to take them.
If you’d like to pitch in and help us and the Waste Management crew unload vehicles to the waiting trucks, you can pick from one of three shifts, from 9 to 11, 11 to 1 or 1 to 3. We bring the bottled water, you bring the gloves. It’s a ton of fun. See you there.
Ever Wonder if There was a Bus that could take you to
where you wanted to go in Clark County? This map was
greatly reduced from the web, so if you want a closer up-
front and personal look at the map, go to :
www. C-Tran.com and click on system maps.

Lincoln Neighborhood Clean-up Saturday, September 8 from 9—3 Usually held in Spring, you’ve had all Summer this year to add to that pile that simply has to go, including all that yard vegetation that has had
an extra Summer to grow. Now if you want to join in the fun, we have
3 shifts, 2 hours each, 9 to 11, 11 to 1 and 1 to 3 to help us unload the vehicles. Whether you chip in by bringing us your junk or show up to help, we’ll look forward to seeing you, one way or the other.
