A New Year

In my last newsletter I told you that we are now offering implants from Astra Tech. I wanted to share with you all one of their new implant offerings, that I feel is really changing the way I approach implant dentistry. The new Astra Tech OsseoSpeed TX Profile implant is in my opinion revolutionary. When placing dental implants, I am sometimes faced with bone that is uneven. In these situations you either have to remove bone to smooth it, or add bone to make it even. With the Profile implant the implant head is sloped to match sloped ridges. I feel this implant will greatly enhance my ability to treat your patients!

Well 2012 is here and we are look-ing forward to a great year at Eastern Oklahoma Periodontics. Ava will turn six in February, and Catherine will turn four! We also are gearing up for the OK MOM event in McAlester, which will be held February 3rd and 4th. We hope to see you there.

The profile implant in action. Tooth #31 was deemed hopeless. Tooth #31 was extracted and I performed socket preservation therapy. An Astra Tech Profile implant was placed in the #31 area four months from extraction. I placed the high side of the implant on the mesial, which matched the higher level of bone. The bone sloped to the distal, so the low side is on the distal. The shape of the implant, matches the shape of the bone!
