Great potencial of the siteThe aim of the project is to create a urban space accessible both from Kelvingrove Park and from the city. In fact, the site analysis of the project area reveals its powerful potencial: it is located in a strategic hub used on one side by people from the Botanic Gardens, on the other by people from the park, the Kelvingrove Museum and the Gla-sgow University. On a higher level, the site is directly linked to Great Western road, one of the main streets of the city. It is consequently created a long walk wich across the site and creates interesting spaces where it meets the buildings of the Bath House. Simple forms and volu-mes are used to articulate the new space.LandscapeLandscape is part of the project. Using the same approach of the volu-mes, simple gesture draw the external space creating both a green grid of different plant variety and fragrances, and a water system of loglines and ecopools able to collect rain water and reuse it into the buildings. Moreover, a big public space is created on the roof of the square building; here, volumes raise breaking the space in order to let the light enter the buildin inside, create seats and shelters outside. It is so crea-ted a new space for the city woch is not only a site to be acrossed but an actual final destination where to spend time at.The Bath HouseTwo main volumes compose the building of the Bath House, divided because of their functions: dry activities and wet spaces. Accordingly to the main criteria, the first long building includes on one side the most public activities: offices, a shop, a beauty salon, a cafe/restaurant and connected facilities. On another floor it includes changing rooms and the gym.The big “wet” volume includes main baths and SPA, with possibility of access both directly from the inside and the outside. Here, volumes and light articulate the inner space, giving the user the possibility of common baths or more private areas.
