Jesus said,
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And take note, I will be
with you always, to the end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:18-20)
The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead.
The Apostle’s Creed
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father,
and he will come again,to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and everlasting life. Amen.

You Were Designed for Discipleship
Whether something is made by God, or made by the hands of man, everything is designed with and for a purpose.
You were too.
You Were Designed for Discipleship
Although everything is designed with and for a purpose, we don’t always do (or use) things according to their design.
You Were Designed for Discipleship
Every company, store business and organization has a mission and a great commission.
You Were Designed for Discipleship
Every company, store business and organization has a mission and a great commission.
The Church and Christians do too.
You Were Designed for Discipleship
Jesus was sent with two very specific assignments from God the Father:
#1 was to: Make Disciples (that make disciples)
and#2 was to: Go To The Cross
You Were Designed for Discipleship
I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.
(John 17:4)
You Were Designed for Discipleship
These Are Not:• suggestions • good ideas• proposals• propositions• motions• offers• or hints
As God the Father gave Jesus explicit commands and instructions….
We too have been given explicit commands and instructions….
You Were Designed for Discipleship
18 Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And you can count on it, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:18-20)
You Were Designed for Discipleship
Both individual Christians and the church have been commanded to make disciples……
And for the most part we have ignored, fumbled and radically failed at obeying this command.
You Were Designed for Discipleship
The church needs to be a place where it’s OK, not to be OK.
It’s not OK to stay that way, but it’s OK to be real and to work things out!
You Were Designed for Discipleship
We are more interested in the person of Jesus than the purpose of Jesus.
• Head Knowledge. (Almost all…)• Heart Knowledge. (Some…)• Hand Knowledge (Few…)
We’ve got to realign ourselves with the purpose of Jesus and of the Church!
You Were Designed for Discipleship
How To Restore God’s Priorities In Your Life And In The Church:
#1— We acknowledge that we were designed for discipleship.#2— We pursue not just the person of Jesus but the purpose of Jesus.#3— We take seriously Jesus’ Command to make disciples.#4— We study and do what Jesus did.
You Were Designed for Discipleship
Jesus’ Prayer in John 17:4-9
4 I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.
You Were Designed for Discipleship
Jesus’ Prayer in John 17:4-9
6 “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you.
You Were Designed for Discipleship
Jesus’ Prayer in John 17:4-9
8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.
