Introducing Our 2018 ‘Dream’ Team

BRENNAN FOSTER, Bottom. A member of SAG/AFTRA, Brennan trained at Northwestern University and has appeared in four television series: Breaking Bad (AMC), Dig (USA), Gunslingers (Castle), and Manhattan (WGN). His Shakespearean roles include Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, the Prince in Hamlet, and Stephano in The Tempest. He has also starred in Enchanted April, Gibraltar, The Iceman Cometh, and The Philadelphia Story, performing for such companies as Aux Dog, Mother Road, Vortex, and Shakespeare on the Plaza in Albuquerque.

JOSH HORTON, Lysander. Josh holds a BFA in Theatre Arts from New Mexico State University and is now enrolled in the MFA program at UNLV. He has twice participated in the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival, and his Shakespearean roles include Macduff in Macbeth and Orsino in Twelfth Night. His other credits include roles in A Christmas Carol, The Misanthrope, and Glengary Glen Ross.

KENT KIRKPATRICK, Egeus / Quince. A member of both Actors’ Equity and SAG-AFTRA, Kent is well known to TV audiences for roles in Better Call Saul, In Plain Sight, Lazarus Man, Manhattan, and Wildfire. Local audiences have admired his performances with Shakespeare in Santa Fe (in roles such as Hortensio, Lucio, and Puck), Adobe Rose (where he co-starred in Bus Stop), and Shakespeare in the Garden (where he offered a brilliant portrayal of Trinculo in last year’s acclaimed production of The Tempest.

MIRANDA LICHTMAN, Hermia. Last summer in The Tempest, Miranda delighted Shakespeare in the Garden audiences in the charming role for which she was named. A recent graduate of NYU’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, she has played Ophelia at Playwrights Horizon, Tamora and Lady Anne at RADA, and Amiens and Hymen at the Stella Adler Studio. She has also appeared in two television pilots, Family Style and Shadow Sides.

DYLAN NORMAN, Oberon / Theseus. A Lincoln Center finalist at the English-Speaking Union’s 2015 National Shakespeare Competition, Dylan has acted in several venues at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, among them the Weckesser and Greer Garson theatres, as well as at Adobe Rose Theatre, where he starred in The Ultimate Christmas Show. He has been directed by Vaughn Irving, Jon Jory, and Gail Springer, and he has appeared in Cabaret, Mary Poppins, and a number of other classics.

MARIAH OLESEN, Snug / Moth. With training at both Sheridan College in Wyoming and Santa Fe University of Art and Design, Mariah will be familiar to audiences who’ve enjoyed her performances in The Ultimate Christmas Show and in Extremities at Adobe Rose Theatre. Her other credits include roles in Company, Heathers, and Threepenny Opera at SFUAD, and in The Addams Family, 42nd Street, Little Shop of Horrors, and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike in other settings.

SKYE PAGON, Hippolyta / Titania. Skye holds a BFA degree from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where her training has included acting in both the Classical Studio and the Meisner Studio. Her Shakespearean roles include Bianca in The Taming of the Shrew, Paulina in The Winter’s Tale, and Portia in The Merchant of Venice. She has also played Meg in Little Women, Alex in No. 11 (Blue & White), and Dora in Lida Stein and the Righteous Gentile.

KOPPANY PUSZTAI, Cobweb / Flute. Koppany holds degrees from Raritan Valley Community Col-lege in New Jersey and from the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, where his instructors included Jon Jory and Hank Rogerson. At Adobe Rose he has starred in both The Ultimate Christmas Show and Extremities. And his acting at SFUAD has included such roles as Charles in Easy Virtue, Macheath in The Threepenny Opera, and Peter in Company.

ANN ROYLANCE, Snout / Peaseblossom. A Dramalogue Award winner, Ann’s career has in-cluded TV, musical theatre, plays, and clubs -- from D.C. to New York to Sydney to Los Angeles, and now Santa Fe. She has worked with such notables as Stephen Sondheim, Harold Prince, Mary Tyler Moore, Julie Harris, Kathy Bates, Bob Newhart, and Eva Marie Saint, and she has performed locally for Adobe Rose, New Mexico Actors Lab, Santa Fe Playhouse, and Santa Fe Shakespeare Society.

PATRICK BRIGGS, Egeus / Quince. A man of many talents, Patrick is serving both as Production Manager and, for our final week, as a member of the cast. He has worked with Captain’s Table, Corral Playhouse, La Cantina Cabaret, National Dance Institute, New Mexico Actors Lab, the New Mexico Outdoor Drama Association, Oasis Theatre, Santa Fe Performing Arts Company, Shakespeare in Santa Fe, and Santa Fe Shakespeare Society, and he has performed with such luminaries as Celeste Holm and Kier Dullea.

MARIANNA GALLEGOS, Acorn. Marianna is doing double duty for our show, as Assistant Stage Manager, and as a performer playing one of the Fairies. Her acting credits include roles at Adobe Rose Theatre, American Southwest Theatre Company, Guild Cinema, the San Francisco Youth Theatre, the Valley Ensemble Collabo-ration, and Working Classroom. She has also done commercials and a number of film and television roles.

MIRANDA SAVAGE, Helena. A senior at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Miranda has also trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. She played Hermione, Hero, and Lady Macbeth during her years at Atholton High School in Columbia, Maryland, and she portrayed Moth/Starveling for Annapolis Shakespeare Company in Maryland. She has also appeared in television roles for CBS (“Ford’s Theater”), HBO (“The Wire”), and National Geographic Films (“The Boomer Century”).

HANIA STOCKER, Demetrius. Hania has appeared as Perchick in Fiddler on the Roof at the Lensic, as Doug in The Way We Get By at Albuquerque’s Aux Dog Theater, as Richard Hanney in The 39 Steps, Detective Tupolski in The Pillowman, Comrade O’Brien in 1984, and Ned in The Normal Heart at the Santa Fe Playhouse, and as Rev. John Hale in The Crucible with Ironweed Productions.

GEORGIA WAEHLER, Puck / Philostrate. A rising junior at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Georgia has recently choreographed and performed in an original dance piece inspired by the #MeToo Move-ment. Other credits include Wilde’s A Woman of No Importance and an original NYU graduate musical. She has performed at the Five Angels Theatre and at the Papermill Playhouse, as well as in the Ivy Arts Centre at the Guildford School of Acting in Surrey .

NAGLE JACKSON, Artistic Consultant. Nagle is one of today’s most versatile theater artists. A playwright as well as a director, he has overseen the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre and Princeton’s McCarter Theatre. Between 1997 and 2002 he and Rachel Kelly presided over Shakespeare in Santa Fe at St. John’s College. Nagle returned to that setting in 2013 for All For Your Delight. And last summer he opened Shakespeare in the Garden as he directed The Tempest.

JAY BUSH, Stage Designer and Technical Advisor. During a stellar career as Technical Director, Production Manager, and General Manager at Minneapolis Children’s Theatre, Jay designed presentations of Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, Hansel and Gretel, and other classics. After thirteen years he then left to pursue a new career in architecture. Christ Church Santa Fe is one of his most celebrated local designs.

JASMINKA JESIC, Costume Designer. A native of Yugoslavia, Jasminka has done distinguished work in both film and theater. Her local clients have included Theaterwork, Santa Fe Stages, Shakespeare in Santa Fe, Theater Grottesco, Stray Dogs, and the College of Santa Fe. She’s taught at Santa Fe Community College and at Santa Fe University of Art and Design. Mean-while she has collaborated with a number of prestigious fashion studios in northern New Mexico.

PAOLA MARTINI, Props Manager. Paola studied art, animation, and filmmaking at Pratt Institute and at New York’s School of Visual Arts. She earned a BA from the University of New Orleans and served as Art Director for the award-winning feature film Sweet Melody. She has worked locally as a Properties Master for Cascarones at Teatro Paraguas, for Death of a Salesman at Ironweed, and for The Madwoman of Chaillot at Santa Fe Playhouse. She recently created props for Ironweed’s The Crucible.

CINEMA JONES, Artistic Administrator. Cinema has worked as Production Coordinator at Reflective Images and as Box Office Manager for the Adobe Rose Theatre. Over the last two decades she has provided her expertise in logistics to a number of local enterprises, among them Teatrro Paraguas, Sangre de Cristo Mountain Works, and Santa Fe Greenhouses and High Country Gardens. For this show she will oversee all front-of-house functions.

JOHN F. ANDREWS, Producer. John oversees the Shakespeare Guild, best known for its Gielgud Award for Excellence in the Dramatic Arts, an honor that has been presented to such artists as Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench, David Hare, Derek Jacobi, Kevin Kline, Ian McKellen, Christopher Plummer, Lynn and Vanessa Redgrave, and Patrick Stewart. The Gielgud is now bestowed each October in London’s historic Guildhall.

BEAR SCHACHT, Mustardseed. A singer and a dancer as well as an actor, Bear has portrayed Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls (Los Alamos Light Opera), Sheriff Joe in Spitfire Grill (Dixon Community Players), Conrad Birdie in Bye Bye Birdie (Taos Community Chorus), and Matt in The Fantasticks (San Juan College). And for Sandstone Productions, he has portrayed Chuck Cranston in Footloose.

RACHEL KELLY, Director. Rachel was co-founder of Shakespeare in Santa Fe, and served as its Artistic Director from 1992 to 2002. She forged its partnership with St. John’s College and its ties with Actors’ Equity Association. She introduced its Shakespeare in the Schools and MFA Internship programs. A graduate of the British-American Drama Academy, she also directed, and played Celia, Puck, Hermia, and Maria.

MARY KIMBALL OUTTEN, Composer and Music Director. Mary served as Resident Composer for Shakespeare in Santa Fe from 1989 to 2003, creating the music for 14 Shakespeare productions and four children's fairy tales with libretti and lyrics by Nagle Jackson. She has also worked as Artist in Residence for the Santa Fe Opera’s Education and Outreach Department. Her CD, Songs & Sonnets from the Time of Mary Sidney, is available at the Garden gift shop.

CHARLY DROBECK, Flute. Charly learned flute and piano as a child and studied jazz at Indiana University. She has worked with the Creede Repertory Theatre, the New Mexico Repertory Theatre, the Orchestra of Santa Fe, Santa Fe Pro Musica, and the Santa Fe Women’s Ensemble. She has performed frequently with Mary Outten, and she is a featured player on Songs and Sonnets from the Time of Mary Sidney.

JEFF SUSSMANN, Percussion. Jeff has been playing percussion for almost 50 years, working with a broad array of groups and songwriters. He has recorded with Michael Stearns, Erik Darling, Krishna Dass, Ottmar Liebert, Tulku, and ThaMuseMeant. He has studied with Paul Wertico and Christopher Shultis (UNM), and he is co-founder and co-producer of “The Drum is the Voice of the Trees,” a prestigious concert series.

ROSARIO PROVENZA, Set Designer. One of today’s most eminent scenic designers, Rosario‘s remarkable career has included key roles with David Letterman’s Late Night show on CBS, with the acclaimed Longmire series on Netflix, and with such films as The Tao of Steve, Employee of the Month, Odd Thomas, and The Messengers. With a degree from the Yale School of Drama, he has worked extensively in theater, not only here in Santa Fe but in New York and Los Angeles.

GEORGE JONES, Finance Director. With degrees in mathematics and computer science from Hartwick College and Ohio State University, George began his career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in Houston, and has worked with a number of technology and consulting firms. He has taught at Rice University, and his book on business and professional ethics has been used at several institutions of higher learning.

SHAWNA JONES, Volunteer Coordinator. With two degrees from Texas Tech, a B.A. in Spanish and Social Work and an M.A. in Public Administration, and with experience in the Peace Corps and at El Camino Real Academy, Shawna has the perfect credentials as the Adult Education and Volunteer Coordinator for the Garden. She’ll work closely with those members of our society of Bardtenders who provide in-kind service.

MOLLIE PARSONS, Education Director. Mollie holds a degree in art history from Brown University, and degrees in education from Harvard University and Boston College. A native of the Southwest, she taught at the Rio Grande School in Santa Fe from 2009 to 2013, and then became Founding Director of Education at the SFBG. She builds partnerships not only with our schools, but with the larger community, with special emphasis on ecological issues.

CATHERINE LYNCH, Stage Manager. Catherine holds a degree in directing and production (focusing on both theatre and television) from Columbia College in Chicago. She has also studied in London under the auspices of Syracuse University. In recent years she’s worked both as a teacher (at Piven Theatre in Evanston, Illinois) and as a casting director (through CKLCASTING). Santa Fe audiences will also recall that she directed a production of Time Stands Still at the Adobe Rose Theatre.

RACHEL PEARSON, Production Intern. Rachel has participated in ten shows at the New Mexico School for the Arts, working both onstage and backstage. Now in her second year as a Lensic Technical Theatre Intern, she has appeared in or provided assistance for several films that have been shot in our state, among them The Kid and A Million Ways to Die in the West. And she’s recently been accepted into a new program called New Mexico Girls Make Movies.

CLAYTON BASS, Producer. Clayton has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Santa Fe Botanical Garden since 2013. He worked with architect Michael Graves at Emory University’s Michael Carlos Museum and has held leadership roles at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art in Mississippi and at the Huntsville Museum of Art in Alabama. He has also served in key positions with the American Alliance of Museums.

REBECCA JENSEN, Development Director. Rebecca is a recognized leader in non-profit publishing, marketing, and communications, and she oversaw those areas for Santa Fe Pro Musica before joining the Garden staff in 2017. For several years she served as Executive Editor of the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychology, and she played a similar role with the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.

BEN ROUNTREE, Technical Director and Light Designer. Co-founder of CYC-ics Theater, a student-owned company, Ben has provided lighting and other technical services to Adobe Rose Theatre, Lensic Performing Arts Center, and Teatro Paraguas. His contributions to Shakespeare in the Garden’s inaugural season proved indispensable, and we’re delighted to welcome him back for this summer’s Dream. He’ll soon commence his senior year at the New Mexico School for the Arts.

CHLOE HANNA, Production Intern. Now that she has completed her high-school preparation at NMSA, Chloe will be ttaking courses in eight countries over the next four years as a participant in Long Island University’s global campus program. Meanwhile she’s looking forward to a summer in which she’ll not only learns more about Shakespeare, but develop technical skills as a member of the crew that oversees lighting and other aspects of this year’s presentation.

CASEY LAKATOS, Production Intern. Last season Casey worked as a key member of our technical crew. This year, as part of our production team, she’ll also assist with front-of-house operations. A senior at St. Michael’s High School, Casey has worked at the Adobe Rose Theatre, the Scottish Rite Temple, and Studio Center, running light boards, handling conces-sions, and gaining experience in stage management.

OLIVIA WHITE, Dresser Intern. A 2017 graduate of the Academy for Technology and the Classics, Olivia has acted in eight productions of the Upstart Crows of Santa Fe, with roles that have ranged from Hamlet to Peter Quince. She portrayed Hermia in the Shakespeare Society’s recent presentation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2018). And she is now a sophomore, studying Theatre and Creative Writing, at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts.

JAYDEN CHAVEZ, Production Intern. A junior in the New Mexico School of the Arts’ Theatre Department, Jayden is an actor, a writer, and a lighting designer, Her resume includes B(D)ad Jokes, TBD, and A Common Thread. She is also the artistic director and co-founder (with our Technical Director and Light Designer Ben Rountree) of CYC-ics, a small theatre company that illustrates the types of creative innovation that NMSA cultivates in its selective student body.

CLEO ULATOWSKI, Production Intern. A senior at St. John’s College’s campus in Santa Fe, Cleo is studying in a broad range of subject areas, among them philosophy and the history of mathematics and science. Having read and experienced productions of a number of Shakespeare’s plays, and is grateful for the opportunity to be involved in a presentation of one of his most popular comic masterpieces.

SCOTT CANNING, Horticultural and Special Projects Coordinator. Scott was at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden from 1989 to 1992, when he moved to Albuquerque to run a landscaping business. In 1994 he joined the Brooklyn Botanic Garden as curator of greenhouses. In 2001 he moved to Wave Hill, a garden and cultural center in the Bronx. In 2014 he assumed his present position at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden.
