A Message from the Directors
Happy New Year to ALL!
The Directors would like to thank the New Age Services Inc. teams for all their efforts in planning and participating in all of the Christmas/New Year celebrations of 2018. We thoroughly enjoyed our celebrations and the participation of all to keep the season festive.
We are looking forward to the New Year – 2019. January is a time of planning, setting goals and anticipation for the unknown. We continue to work on the Software System. ShareVision, will be implemented in a couple of homes in February, which means training begins in January. Our IT team has almost completed setting up all of our individuals and staff into this system, which is a huge task in itself. Ceridian, which supports our time, attendance and payroll, development has begun by having weekly meetings with Ceridian implementation teams and providing information for set up. Our Accounting Team is working extra hard in ensuring we get this software implemented within a timeline set by Ceridian. These new software implements are going to be impactful and supportive to the daily work we all do along with supporting the Programs we provide.
We will continue to do Intake with new individuals looking for services and we look forward to them starting with New Age Services Inc. in 2019. The PDD Review consultation has now ended and we look forward to hearing what the recommendations are and how our government will respond. We are excited to hear that AISH has increased beginning January 1, 2019. This is long over due and is greatly appreciated amongst those who receive this benefit.
As stated previously, we continue to summarize how our last three years have gone and will be moving forward with a different strategic plan. We will keep our NAS network informed as we go through this process over the next year.
“Only as high as I reach can I grow, only as far as I seek can I go, only as deep as I look can I see,
only as much as I dream can I be.” – Karen Ravn
Wishing You All A Healthy And Prosperous 2019!

What is Influenza?
An infection of the nose, throat, and lungs that’s caused by a virus.
Risks:
Pneumonia is the most common complication of influenza
Influenza can make other health problems worse.
Even healthy, young people can get very sick and die from influenza.
Each year, more than 12,000 people in Canada are admitted to hospital and 3,500 die from influenza
How it spreads:
Tiny droplets when an infected person sneezes, coughs, or even talks.
The virus can be breathed in, or people can be exposed to it when they touch something that carries the virus
(e.g., hands, objects) and then touch their eyes or nose.
Influenza can spread before symptoms start.
How to prevent spreading influenza:
Wash your hands with warm water and soap or use hand sanitizers often.
Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze with your arm or a tissue, not your hand.
Stay at home when you are sick.

Israel S.
Israel has been with New Age Services Inc. since January 2015. His
journey started with a simple passion for supporting others. Today,
he has grown within this agency as a strong and reliable person
both in the group living and day program departments. Israel works
mainly at group homes and his work there clearly shows. He is a
great advocate towards his colleagues and his clients; focusing on
their rights, quality of life and goals. Israel is a very knowledgeable
person that has created many protocols and routines that has helped
create structure within his group home. Everyone he works with agrees
when I say that he is a kind, dedicated and reliable person. Thank you Israel for all the wonderful
work that you’ve completed, created and maintained within us. It will last for a life time,
especially in the people that you’ve left a mark on.
