The Air Cadet League of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. NEWSLETTER July 2013 Supporng the Youth of Manitoba since 1941 2/2013 A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR TO THE MANITOBA AIR CADET COMMUNITY SUPPORTED BY: Congratulations to all the air cadets who successfully completed this year’s local squadron training program. We look forward hearing about your successes of this summers’ training. We hope to welcome you back to your squadrons in September. Thank you to the squadron staff for enabling their air cadets to participate in squadron activities. Many thanks to the Squadron Sponsoring Committees for ensuring the existence of each squadron by being the Air Cadet Leagues’ sponsor for each squadron. Thank you to Lieutenant-Colonel Rob Kamphuis and his RCSU officers for their cooperation and support. I appreci- ate the accomplishments of the members of the Board of Directors of the Air Cadet League of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. I would like to acknowledge the many volunteer hours of the Air Cadet League especially at the squadron and provincial levels. Recent unprecedented accomplishments of the Air Ca- det League in Manitoba include arranging a familiari- zation flight with the Snowbirds for the 2012 Top Man- itoba Glider Pilot Scholarship student, arranging for a visit by Astronaut Jeremy Hansen to 176 Squadron, arranged a Luncheon for Senior Air Cadets with Gen- eral Walt Natynczyk former member of 220 Squadron and Chief of the Defence Staff, established a new $5,000.00 post-secondary scholarship in memory of Lieutenant-General Alan MacKenzie, held annual Gala Dinners to raise monies for the Post-Secondary Schol- arship Program and for the Local Sponsoring Commit- tee Support Program and conducting an annual raffle with all proceeds to support Sponsoring Committees who choose to participate. Next year, I look forward to continued success for the air cadets in Manitoba because of the anticipated com- mitted cooperation and support amongst all the adult stakeholders – members of Squadron Officer staffs, members of Squadron Sponsoring Committees, mem- bers of the Regional Cadet Support Unit (Northwest) and members of the Board of Directors of the Air Ca- det League of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. and most of all, the parents/guardians of the air cadets. Again, congratulations and thanks to all the adult stakeholders for giving to the best of their ability the cooperation and support necessary to provide Cana- da’s best youth program to the air cadets in Manitoba. Air Cadet Warrant Officer 2nd Class Julien Audette from 307 RCACS, Steinbach, was the 2012 Top Manitoba Air Cadet on the Gliding Pilot Course and was awarded the opportunity to experience acrobatic flight.

A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

TO THE MANITOBA AIR CADET COMMUNITY

SUPPORTED BY:

Congratulations to all the air cadets who successfully

completed this year’s local squadron training program.

We look forward hearing about your successes of this

summers’ training. We hope to welcome you back to

your squadrons in September.

Thank you to the squadron staff for enabling their air

cadets to participate in squadron activities. Many

thanks to the Squadron Sponsoring Committees for

ensuring the existence of each squadron by being the

Air Cadet Leagues’ sponsor for each squadron. Thank

you to Lieutenant-Colonel Rob Kamphuis and his RCSU

officers for their cooperation and support. I appreci-

ate the accomplishments of the members of the Board

of Directors of the Air Cadet League of Canada

(Manitoba) Inc. I would like to acknowledge the many

volunteer hours of the Air Cadet League especially at

the squadron and provincial levels.

Recent unprecedented accomplishments of the Air Ca-

det League in Manitoba include arranging a familiari-

zation flight with the Snowbirds for the 2012 Top Man-

itoba Glider Pilot Scholarship student, arranging for a

visit by Astronaut Jeremy Hansen to 176 Squadron,

arranged a Luncheon for Senior Air Cadets with Gen-

eral Walt Natynczyk former member of 220 Squadron

and Chief of the Defence Staff, established a new

$5,000.00 post-secondary scholarship in memory of

Lieutenant-General Alan MacKenzie, held annual Gala

Dinners to raise monies for the Post-Secondary Schol-

arship Program and for the Local Sponsoring Commit-

tee Support Program and conducting an annual raffle

with all proceeds to support Sponsoring Committees

who choose to participate.

Next year, I look forward to continued success for the

air cadets in Manitoba because of the anticipated com-

mitted cooperation and support amongst all the adult

stakeholders – members of Squadron Officer staffs,

members of Squadron Sponsoring Committees, mem-

bers of the Regional Cadet Support Unit (Northwest)

and members of the Board of Directors of the Air Ca-

det League of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. and most of all,

the parents/guardians of the air cadets.

Again, congratulations and thanks to all the adult

stakeholders for giving to the best of their ability the

cooperation and support necessary to provide Cana-

da’s best youth program to the air cadets in Manitoba.
