Link Resolvers
Provides a single point of access to many web-based resources. Since OpenURL is a becoming a standard syntax, many products can now access the same content.
LinkSource, EBSCO’s proprietary OpenURL link resolver:

Referred to as an item-level linker. All resources relate back to the article of interest.
Accessed after a patron conducts a search in an OpenURL compliant database, and selects an item of interest from the result list or detail display.

A search engine that simultaneously searches multiple online services.
LinkSource does not ‘search’ resources. It is configured to appropriately display links to resources based on the nature of an item, such as a citation.

Access to Full Text LinkSource was built on the ability to access
validated* full text from three sources:
1. EBSCOhost databases 2. EBSCOhost Electronic Journals Service 3. CrossRef
Article-level access to over 16 million full text articles from 12,000 journals from these three sources.
LinkSource can also be configured to link to other full text providers.
* LinkSource checks that both the journal and article are available for content from resources identified in items 1-3.

Link Sources and Targets LinkSource can link to hundreds of web-based targets.

“All-inclusive pricing” includes training, support and account setup and maintenance.
LinkSource is configured by customers in EBSCOadmin. No restrictions are placed on what the customer can control. Link text, mouse-over text, and the order of the links on the menu can all be customized.
LinkSource can work with exported A-to-Z list content.

Configuration and customization of links to resources is controlled in EBSCOadmin, not in each individual product.
LinkSource can be easily configured for timely implementation.

Institutions can also customize LinkSource by adding their own resource links.

Pricing is based on FTE ranges for academic customers.
Discounts are allowed on LinkSource when selected EBSCO secondary databases are purchased in conjunction with LinkSource.
Consortium discounts are available, including multi-type library consortium.

LinkSource can be centrally purchased by a consortia for its participating institutions.
Discounts based on selected secondary databases will be given, whether purchased by consortium or the institution.
Pricing is based on the creation of a single consortium-wide profile (least expensive), or customization for each institution.
Further discounts apply if an entire consortium purchases LinkSource.
