My heart is warmed to know there are still many who care about the welfare of fellow farmers and ranchers. We are aware that agriculture is America’s only renewable resource and one that nobody can ignore or survive without.

I have been an active farm advocate since 1985. I have missed many holiday and family gatherings to help a farmer through an upcoming foreclosure, or to take advantage of a helpful new program, or various kinds of an immediate crisis. In each case one can glean from the strength of the farmers’ determination to battle out and survive dozens of obstacles the strength to assist another needy farmer.

I learned from each different case some point or points necessary in helping another person.

The farmer is a steady, dependable, and faithful man or woman whose contribution to our population is priceless.

Each of you, as an advocate, is doing a special work. Please continue that work with pride and please know your efforts will reach through generations. Each of you may be considered a patriot and a warrior. You are a patriot because of your loyalty to mankind and a warrior because of your faith and confidence to tackle and work through difficulties in behalf of supplying a commodity needed by all.

Please continue the excellent work and courage!

Bless you all!Mona Lee Brock, M.Ed.L.M.F.J., L.M.R.J.
