K ilm er a n d Seeger, b o rn w ith in 50 m iles ol each o th e r an d , w ith in tw o years o f each o th e r, lost th e ir lives figh ting in F rance . B oth d ied young. B oth 'died before th e pro ih ise lh a t th e ir early poe try ind ica ted was fu lfilled . B oth le ft only a single poem w hich the general pub lic w ould recall.
