Vote for Me A Lesson on the Process of Voting
Grade Level: Preschool
Objective:After reading Duck for President, students will vote
for duck or
farmer as president.
Materials:
Chart paper
Markers
Old shoe box to use to vote
Duck for President book
Procedure:
1. Create !" Charta. Ask students what it means to voteb. Ask
students if the# have ever voted
for an#thingi. $elate this to choosing their
drink in the morningc. %alk about how their mom and&or
dad might talk about voting and how
the# can vote for president.2. $ead Duck for President'. After
reading tell students the# will have the chance to vote (pick
their
favorite character) for president.*. Model how to draw an + in
the box to vote for either duck or farmer. Call on students to take

count the votes
