FINAL CAMPAIGN REPORT
In September of 2010, the Building Upon the Legacycapital campaign was born.At that time a group of passionate supporters of
Christian education in this area was assembled andchallenged to move into the community to spread themessage and enlist support for the construction of a newschool facility for the Holland Marsh District ChristianSchool Society. This society is the oldest Christian School in Canada with its
humble beginnings in 1943.Over the years many students were educated in the light of
God’s Word and with the commitment and message that Jesus Christis Lord over all of creation and that education should also include that
perspective in all subject areas. By the early 2000s it was becoming

apparent that the current facility would need to bereplaced. The question was when and where would it bebuilt and how would the funds be raised. By 2007 a sitewas chosen and a capital campaign was launched. That initiative resulted in the new site being acquired andpaid for as the concept of building the new facilitybegan to take root in the community. In 2010 the society decided to embark on
a campaign to raise funds for the building. The goal of the campaign was to raise$4,000,000. By 2013 there were enoughfunds committed that the membership approved proceeding towards construction.Actual construction began in 2014 and wascompleted by September of 2015.
This is the story of Faith that the Lord wouldprovide whatever we stand in need of as we askin prayer. It is also a story of Hope that the Lordwould instill in the community the desire and commitment to this project to provide the necessaryfunds. The path unfolded in a way which displayed theLove that this community has for the Lord and the ministryto children through Christian Education. Each step of this

journey has had a foundation of constant prayerto the Lord that He would bless the efforts andgifts given by many volunteers and donors. This endeavour consisted of a “commongoal” and “unity” which defined the community whose names are listed in thereport. It was decided early on in the campaign that we should celebrate andrecognize the generosity of the manydonors as each gave in accordance with
their blessings and the need with which this community was challenged. Each donor was faced
with a challenge and opportunity to support as theyfelt moved. We humbly thank each supporter for therole that they have chosen to play in this chapterof Christian education in this area. As you readthrough the list you will see “anonymous”listed many times. This represents thedonors from whom we were not able to receive permission or were not able toreach for permission to publish theirname. Each name represents a decisionto make a gift which will provide lasting benefits for children at KingChristian School over the decades to come. The support given throughout the
campaign and building process is an exemplary demonstration of the faithful stewardship of many people. This support is a testament to the generous and sacrificial giving which thecampaign team has been privileged to
witness. May the Lord bless each of us as westrive to serve the Lord in all areas of life.
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves
a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

You can expect to hear about that later in the year. There’s room for you in this box.
