Do you know God? Do you really know

him? This is what we have been studying together with the youth group on Wednesday’s since the first of the year. Knowing the Bible, and knowing facts about the Bible is not the same as truly knowing God. So we’ve been digging into God’s character every week. We’ve looked at how God is love, creator, priceless, trustworthy, everywhere, a warrior who fights for us, and many other characteristics of who God is. It’s been great! This summer we’re looking forward to having the teens and families with kids over to our home on Wednesday’s. We’re calling it “Devo’s & Dives.” Each week we’ll have dinner, have a devotional, and have some fun swimming in the pool. The teens will be leading the devotional thoughts on the nights when the teens meet. This is a great chance for them to stretch and grow, sharing their hearts and their walk with God. Looking forward to a great summer! Much love!

Opportunities to Bless

There are around 2.4 billion people

in the world today that identify as Christians. The current population of the world is around 7.3 billion. That means that roughly one third of the entire population of the world identifies as Christian. It’s the largest religion in the world and has been for a long time. But it wasn’t always that way. After Jesus was raised from the dead, he appeared to many people including his disciples. In Acts 1 Jesus tells them they will receive power from the Holy Spirit and that they will be his witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea,

Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. In that same chapter Luke tells us “in those days the believers were a small group numbering about 120.” 2,000 years later we are a group numbering 2.4 billion. How in the world did that happen? How did a small group of 120 believers have such a huge impact on the world? How did his apostles, who were running for their lives when Jesus was arrested, end up leading a movement with such courage? The answer lies in their purpose. They saw Jesus die. They saw him raised from the dead. And they were filled with his Holy Spirit. Jesus

changed their lives in such a powerful way that they had to witness about him to as many people as possible, and bring them into his family - the church. They were on a MISSION. And that is the title of our sermon series for this summer. We’ll be going through the book of Acts looking at the stories of the early church on a MISSION. I hope and pray it inspires and challenges us. Because 2000 years later, the MISSION has not changed. God Bless!
