IoE CATALYSTS

Our Connected World: An Agile Ecosystem for Delivering Smart Digital Services (Former “Smart Energy Project Catalyst”)

This Catalyst will look to demonstrate the foundation for building an agile ecosystem capable of delivering a broad range of Smart Digital Services and demonstrate how different vertical domains could be interconnected. This catalyst will involve two scenarios centered around a customer. The customer could be an individual consumer or a business. Champion: OrangeParticipants: ESRI, BearingPoint, Infonova, BaseN

Establish a Digital Ecosystem

The proposed project for initiating a catalyst fits under the Open Digital Forum program and will provide a B2B2X model that expands beyond telecom industry and traditional wholesale business showing how carriers and telecom operators can benefit from IoT market evolution. The aim of this Catalyst project is to show a real case scenario and relevant use cases from telecom

wholesale side, explaining what assets need to be implemented in order to enable telecoms to unlock potential for the IoT marketplace. Champion: STCParticipant: ZIRA

Smart Health

This Catalyst represents two fronts:1. Digital Health Care Journey2.The usage of Frameworx to deliver an IoT application ( made up of many services from many partners)

• Enable efficient and standardized interaction between parties without the need for deep knowledge of Frameworx

• Enable businesses to create, evolve and manage digital services rapidly and efficiently without the need to deal with the complexity of their partner businesses

• Touch-points between partners and the ability to utilize TM Forum APIs to deliver value/content/offers

• Time to market for end user collaborative applications

• Time to revenue for each of the partners within the ecosystem

Champions:Verizon, OrangeParticipants: Ericsson, BaseN

Anywhere Point of Care Diagnostics (Smart Health) Establish a reproducible approach to “Anywhere Point of Care” diagnostic testing, using Infection Tracking as the test case. Using small portable point-of-care (PoC) diagnostic instruments (e.g. Cepheid Omni), tests can

be done anywhere – for example, a hospital clinic, a health center, or even a temporary clinic or mobile unit in the field. Results are immediately uploaded by smartphone connection to the cloud, allowing sharing and integration with healthcare IT systems/health records – methodologies for this would be defined. Additional opportunities exist for adding telemedicine components- again, methodologies would be defined. Participant: ESRI

Smart Follow-up (Smart Health)

An Open HealthCare Platform Delivered as a Managed Service Enabling continuity of care at home Providing constant, reliable and secure dialogue between the patient and the hospital. Champion: Italtel

Delivering Digital Experience across Ecosystems

This Catalyst project will demonstrate the critical digital capabilities required to deliver the following: Personalized and context based sales & marketing using omnichannel, context delivery & Big data insights Dynamic & personalized bundling, new purchase model( free, trial, guest etc.) for digital and Telco services Easy on-boarding using single customer profile, preferences, ID across all services Distributed and configurable provisioning of Digital services Flexible customer and user life cycle management Meaningful & relevant customer interactions using known context( profile, location, device & preferences). Champion: TelefonicaParticipants: Infosys, UXP Systems, TCS, BearingPoint

New Business Models with Mobile Sponsored Data This Catalyst will look to demonstrate a new way to monetize mobile data in a B2B2C business model and create a trustworthy experience between digital services and their customers, leveraging the network of mobile operators. This Catalyst project will involve a scenario showing a digital service provider who wants to create a best in class digital experience with its customers. As an example, a Bank (or any other

service such as an insurance, a travel agency or a merchant …) wants to incentive its customers (let’s assume consumers) to use their mobile app and do transactions instead of going to the branch, leading to high operating costs. During the customer service session, which may involve heavy content or a video chat, all the data used will be taken care of by the digital service provider (the bank) and will not decrement the consumer data bundle. Champions: OrangeParticipants: Sigma, Datami, Salesforce

Digital Industrial Manufacturing

The catalyst will focus on intelligent ordering and manufacturing products as well as design management, enabling automatic adaptive reconfiguration of manufacturing cells which could include reconfiguration of robots, programmes, fixtures and tools based on the required manufacturing needs. The Catalyst will demonstrate end-to-end dynamic orchestration across OT and IT domains, Factory and Cloud-based systems, and business and partner networks leveraging TM Forum’s Open Digital REST APIs. The project will also explore automatic resource allocation based on automatic detection of the availability of resources, priority of completion and the manufacturing requirements of the product to be manufactured. Other functions that will be explored include policy based manufacturing and automatic onboarding of manufacturing partners which could influence dynamic procurement of manufacturing supply chain. These enables a shift towards more dynamic reconfiguration of the factory floor and facilitates the drive towards agility and flexibility into the factory floor. For this

project we will specifically evaluate above mentioned functions in the context of airline manufacturing. We are actively seeking new participants, particularly those with expertise in policy management, usage management and performance management.

Connected CarThis Catalyst project will look at a global deployment of connected car using Embedded Subscription Identity Module. Champion: Telus

BSSOTT

The Catalyst project is a real world project designed to utilize APIs presented by WSO2.Telco to the TMF community to enable the provision of a seamless digital framework to power a unique consumer application designed to enhance the usability of core Telco services for roaming customers and offer localized digital service experience for end users. The application, which will be designed to be subscribed to by any Telco’s customer, utilizes both core Telco network services and local and regional digital business to offer relevant localized digital products and services – the perfect hybrid. The objective is that any Telco or any service provider can launch quickly and efficiently in a controlled modern “internet style’ platform whilst continuing to deliver the core services each do so well. Data for Climate (Smart Climate)

Considering both the urgency and the business and social impact opportunities we are facing, many feel we cannot wait any longer for new tools and methods to emerge; we must come together to generate them, and embrace more open innovation and networked problem solving. One of the key enabler of the approach is to learn to provide safe access to useful data to an ecosystem of actors. This project intends to work with organisations that have already run pilot projects in the area of data for sharing and data for economically good purposes. It will seek to find and share the best practices for telco sharing of data initially and grow beyond telco in a future iteration. Champion: Orange
